It takes a while to figure out what's really going on. The important bits. Color in this world comes from the brush. Chicory was the wielder and gave it up very suddenly. Dark, color eating trees appear and the wielders have been hiding it for a long time. There is a dark shape-shifting creature inside the dark trees that the brush can temporarily defeat. That is everything we know so far.
