    At first I was worried at how big the egg was, then later the bouquet size was surprisingly bearable. What length or diameter did you use for the egg

  • @FlowerSchool

    @FlowerSchool

    2 жыл бұрын

    That's an excellent question, Edwina! This floral netting egg was about five inches long and that was plenty of room for Leanne to place all of her flowers in this bouquet. You can use a size that works for you, and it's a great idea to experiment with sizes before you need to make something so you know roughly how many flowers it will take to fill the bouquet. We hope this information helps and we appreciate you taking the time to watch our show. Wishing you the very best in all that you do and hope you have a lovely week. Thank you for being here and sharing in fabulous floral design!

    I have a few more questions for you. Where would I find the painted bay leaf? If you painted it yourself, what paint did you use? I am having a difficult time locating leucadendran. Do you think that ladies mantle would be a good substitute or do you have a different recommendation? And finally, if using the recipe listed for the bride's bouquet, what recipe would you suggest for the bridesmaids? Thank you for your time and advice! I really enjoy watching your videos.

  • @FlowerSchool

    @FlowerSchool

    All of these are excellent questions, Elizabeth! The bay leaves are painted in house using Design Master paint. It preserves them really well and gives them a lovely shine. If you don't have leucadendron available, you can substitute other kinds of flowers or foliage instead and use what is available to you. As for the bridesmaid bouquets, you could do a smaller version of the wedding bouquet or modify their bouquets by keeping the color palette but using fewer of the focal flowers perhaps. Anything is possible really. To help you get ready, we are adding a couple of links that might be useful to you. The first is the Flower School Video Library link to the transcript of this show: www.floraldesigninstitute.com/flower-school-chicken-wire-bridal-bouquet.html. The second is to the Wedding Trends 2020 Flower School Live show with Jeri Barr that Leanne mentions in the video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/m552xrKyl6bPm8Y.html Hope all of this information helps and good luck with your designs. So pleased to hear that you enjoyed this bouquet, Elizabeth! We don't have the exact name of the ranunculus, but you can find the recipe for the bouquet here in the video transcript: www.floraldesigninstitute.com/flower-school-chicken-wire-bridal-bouquet.html Butterfly ranunculus colors that might be similar include Minoan, Lycia and Hades. Thank you so much for taking time to watch our show today and we look forward to seeing you very soon for more magical floral design with Leanne. Wishing you a serene and peaceful week!

    Hello, Leanne. Lovely bouquet. I have a question. What advantage does the chicken wire or floral netting give over just having a tied bouquet? It looks like much of it is the same mechanics. Thank you for your lessons each week. They are a blessing. Just for my own interest, I was the 80th person to like this video, and there was 666 views shown...I like to watch stats...and the one thumb down doesn't count. :) Blessings!!!

    Great question Christie! Floral netting is just another technique used when designing a bouquet. It provides structure and stability to the bouquet. Certainly a bouquet can be designed without floral netting.

    Where can the average person get chicken wire?

  • @FlowerSchool

    @FlowerSchool

    4 жыл бұрын

    Great question! Your local craft store will have it. It comes in pre-cut sheets. You could also use chicken wire from the hardware store. It is not coated like floral netting and can rust in water. You should be able to find it online as well.

    Hello Jeanne and thank you for stopping by! It really is a ranunculus as you can see in the transcript under the video. Leanne used two kinds for this design: butterfly ranunculus and regular ranunculus. www.floraldesigninstitute.com/blogs/flower-school-video-library/chicken-wire-bridal-bouquet Thank you for watching the show and hope you will visit us again soon. Best wishes to you!
