I used the chicken peepers on my hens due to feather picking. It worked for a while but the hens learned to compensate and resumed pecking. (For fun, we put googly eyes on the peepers. Hilarious!)

U sound like a knower of chicken things if u tried them things. Question. I have a disabled hen that is the best hen ever she just has these seizures all the time. We thought it was mareks or wry neck but she never gets worse and just has these episodes. Hence why the rooster picks on her. U think I just gotta off him or try to give him away or is there hope he may leave he alone somehow? All she does all day is keep an eye out for him and try to stay away. He gets her a cpl times a day but we’re usually home and catch it before she has gotten injured. Any suggestions? 😂 you might not even be an expert but thought if u tried those thing u at least too chickening serious. 😂

Part of the overpopulation problem is that the stores make u buy four at a time. U buy chickens once and decide u want another egg or two a day and all the sudden your forced to have eight chickens. Let us buy one or at least two Blaine’s, tractor supply, and most online places I’ve seen.

Thank you so much for the great ideas on how to reduce bullying in the flock. I have one (younger) hen that is so aggressive and bullies everyone in the flock at one point or another. She’s large, black and dominant. I actually thought she was a rooster for awhile, but she finally started lying. Now I’m introducing 4 newbies to the existing flock and she is being relentless with the newbies. At least I have some ideas to help her stay in her lane enough for the newbies to adjust and integrate. Thank you!

I have a rooster that attacks one particular hen terribly. I have to keep her separate, and bring her and every night. I don’t know what to do.

I have one hen that is a different breed than the other four. She's a Delaware vs Buff Orpington. She is about 1/3 larger than the others and is a food hound. She routinely bullies the others - if they're dusting, she'll peck them out of their bath area. I was witnessing this yesterday and didn't know what else to do other than pick her up and give her a talking to... I will try the water pistol method and see if that works.

I have some polish 10 week old Polish chickens and the two Isa Brown chickens are pecking their tops. What about that as the other chickens the same age don't get bothered? Do you have an answer for that? Thank you

I just experienced my first chicken bully situation. I’ve done all the things in this video for my chicks. Keeping them entertained and all. There were only the two in this coop/run. They grew up together. Been Mutt and Jeff. Then one day she started pecking at the others feet. Made them bleed. So I left bully girl out in the run for the night and the next day. Seemed like the pecking was over. Until yesterday I found my golden girl dead. The bully pecked a big ole hole in her side. 🤷‍♀️. Idk what to do with her at this Point since I am about to add 11 more chicks to the flock.

I have 4 12 week olds that I’m trying to introduce to my other 3 , 1 year old chickens. Have. Large coop 4x7 with plenty of roosts. 2 of the old chickens literally see the new ones and instantly gang up on which ever one they can corner . Once cornered they pin it down and viciously attack it taking turns until I break it up or it escapes. This behavior goes on while free ranging , I cant even let the new ones into the run or coop. Any suggestions?

The "Rule of Thumb" I've seen is to wait until the newer ones are at least 8 wks old or closer to the existing hens' size.

Oh wow that sounds rough it's never easy when birds don't get along. I'd personally try when they start to pick on the younger chickens pin the bully down and allow one of the younger hens to sit on top of the bully. This is the only thing that got my hens to stop plucking feathers when I found out who the bully was.
