Chicken And Dumplings Freeze Dried And Rehydrated Ep220

The chicken soup on this was fantastic, the dumplings not so much. But in a pinch this will really hit the spot!

Cook the dumplings in the broth after you take out the chicken and before you add everything in.

I use this brand of dumplings frequently. I always drop my dumplings into boiling liquids (I use chicken stock) and do have have to stir occasionally. We really enjoy this brand of dumplings.

I still can't believe how many bags you use!!! You must have a great job that pays a bunch of money!!! I stuff the bags I use because they are so expensive. Can't wait to try chicken and dumplings. Thanks for the idea.

LOL, quite the contrary however, I don't have a life LOL. I don't go out to movies, seldom eat out, Actually don't go out period. Pay my bills and freeze dry and as Dave Ramsey would say "I'm Debt Free!" I think in this video I used 12 bags for 12 meals. That is less than $6.00, I know many people that spend that much each day on a cup of coffee LOL

@@JohnInBibs Wow, where do you get your bags. Can you share the address to order them from? I just look at all those bags and think wow, that would be nice, but my practical side sees how much more I can put in them. I agree about the coffee, I don't drink it, Coke for me! Keep using those bags, it gives some of us more to talk about!!! Thanks for what you do.

Well I would prefer people to talk about the positive things I do but.... (wink wink) I figured I had better review the video to see exactly what bags I packaged these in. looks like the gallon bags which go for about .75 each but then again I used only 7 bags which is still 5.25 and less than a cup of starbucks LOL. I get my bags from topmylar.com and they have given a promotional code to all my positive thinking viewers (smile) If you spend 50.00 or more use promo code BIBS to save 5.00

When I cook dumplings; either homemade or store bought; I have my broth at a rolling boil and drop the dumplings in one at a time. Keeps them from sticking together. Enjoy your videos.

You could boil/parcook the dumpling in 1/2 or all the broth then just dump whole thing back into crock pot after. Like noodles dumpling like boiling liquid until they get a cooked skin on them so they don't stick to everything. Once they were half cooked you could probably dump them into the crock pot to finish. Never seen dumpling in a store here in Canada so I'm just guessing from my homemade ones. My crock-pot doesn't come back to the boil fast enough for dumplings to work.

My mom uses flour tortillas as flat dumplings. I’m prediabetic and I use low carb tortillas. I think I’ll give this a try. Thanks for testing it for us!

I freeze dry them separately then put a vacuum sealed bag of dumplings inside the other bag. Then I rehydrate the bag of dumplings separately and then ad them to it.

Jon I knew you didn't forget my request. Thanks so much for your version. I never thought about doing it that way. Looks good. I agree with the other people. Cook those dumplings separate because they require lots of liquid and stirring. I'm going to try your receipe. Looks really good. Love your videoes. Keep them coming. lol

First off let me thank you for your support! It really helps. I am a freeze drying freak so I would go for the freeze dry option but it wouldn't be a priority until the best by date approached.

Thank you for your support. There really isn't a way to know. Periodically I am notified of a commission but it doesn't say from who or what was ordered.
