yes i do think the same as you;he is over all jazz violin players;now he's my point of reference to work the violin;i am fed up with gypsy violin and all this overplayed music

Hi, I've done a bit of research myself, and found that the bassist: Alexey Zavokolin has a youtube channel under his name where he has put some other pieces they have played together. The greatest violinist I ever heard in my life! Konstantin Ilitsky pure genius. Unfortunately, I think one of their mate , the composer and guitarist Yuri Schetkin passed away sooner this year. These guys are all genius. Konstantin is awesome. He's the pure genius of music.

Well, I'm going to have to disagree with you and Lia :) ... this sound is complementary to a vibe from the late 70s ( which maintains a hotness :P ) ... Raw ... Mid ... and gutsy, but not the schmaltz you'd get from Perlman / Heifetz -- maybe you're too stuck on classical character -- idk :) ... about 1:30 ... can you hear Ponty? For fiddlers, I think we all start standing on each others shoulders, and there is never a bad sound to an eager ear, or an improvisational flair. I personally like his sound, and his very adept intonation and fingering.
