It's good pop, and "If You Leave Me Now" is even better with Cetera as lead vocal - but old school Chicago fans will always prefer their earlier stuff, with that amazing brass section front and center.

Really old school Chicago fans view Terry Kath (guitar) as being front and center, not the brass/woodwinds section. Not only was he an amazing yet unsung guitarist, he was also a great singer, songwriter, and bandleader. But don't take my word for it! Watch their show at Tanglewood, 21 July 1970 -- an official video is available on KZread. The opening number, "Introduction," was written and sung by Kath. His abilities as a guitarist are put on display during "25 or 6 to 4," and his range of vocal abilities is probably best represented on the "Make Me Smile" suite (which includes "Colour My World."

The 4 dislikes are probably the ones that insist this era of Chicago sucks 😂 People are entitled to their opinions of course, if you prefer their older music there's nothing wrong with that but that doesn't mean their later stuff was all bad. Yes I grew up during the time when Chicago was doing this type of music so it's very nostalgic for me, but I also grew up hearing stuff from every era, genre, etc before this. I happen to like Hard To Say I'm Sorry just as much as Saturday In The Park and vice versa! Regardless of which Chicago you prefer, we can ALL agree that there's nobody like them today and that younger generations need to know that there was amazing music around long before they were even thought of!

Hey Brother! Great comments from ya! 2 Words: PETER CETERA! He Was Frontman- Played Bass & Sung at the same time= Hard To Do. Rock God. Ballad Babe. 50 yr career with band * SOLO. He's been Solo Since the End of 84. This Song Came from Chicago 17. 1984! THEIR BEST. They toured like crazy that yr! If it were Not For Peter & David Foster- we would not be talking about Chicago Today. They Wrote all the songs for this album. Due to Robert Lamm & The 3 Drunk horns in extensive Rehab at the time.. They were headed down the tubes fast! Peters is Extremely Versatile! 70s 80s & 90s. Everybody says Steve Perry is the Best. I just voted Peter #1 for Frontman/AOR Male Vocalist of the 70s & 80s with Rolling Stone- Ultimate Classic Rock * Billboard. I could try and gather thousands from all over the world- to find his voice. Flat out wont happen! UNIQUE & DISTINCT. Among the 3 best tenors of Rock & Ballads. Check out CHICAGO 17 J!

This video doesn't have enough views for how great the song is! I bet most of his subscribers are probably young. The music today is listened to because of the beat. The music of yesterday spoke to your soul

Smooth, yeah, sort of like Cheez Whiz. You NEED to check out "I'm a Man" from their first album ("Chicago Transit Authority") -- or anything from their first album, for that matter; "Poem 58" is another good choice as is "Introduction." Also, their live performance at Tanglewood on 21 July 1970 is legendary. You already reacted to the studio version of "25 or 6 to 4," but you really have to watch Terry Kath (guitar, RIP) light on fire during the Tanglewood performance of this song.

I grew up since '67 and I got rhythm by the time I was 6 months old. I like it LOUD! I've always loved Chicago! Sang every single song with a hairbrush until i got a play mic! You should just have jam sessions of nothing but their amazing work!
