My uncle used to own the Harlo and Hasty Grills (He opened them in the 50's). He had several more in Melrose and east of Harlem Ave. My other uncle owned two In Forest Park. The Deluxe grill and Bud's Big Burgers.

Very interesting; my then-husband liked this place and often talked about his visits there, but refused to take me there. He called it a 'greasy spoon diner'. I was hardly an 'uptown girl' so I was annoyed by his attitude. One of the reasons he's my ex. This was back in the 70's

Claims it's being made the traditional way... but uses american cheese instead of swiss and there is no thousand island dressing on it. That's not a patty melt, that's a cheeseburger.
