Deep dish pizza was created by a couple of New Yorkers. The only real authentic pizza is a thin crust. Go to Connie's Pizza and you will get a real Chicago pizza not this trash.

Deep dish changed my love of pizza.. I found out there are even more shapes and tastes for this amazing food. I went to US for the first time last November and had to stop in Chicago, everyone recommended us to try something called Deep dish pizza.. I said sure let's see.. Then, I discovered heaven! I can't stop thinking about it and that's one of the things I miss from US. (disclaimer: deep dish is the only pizza allowed to be eaten with fork and knife)

if you let the pizza sit a bit and form into that pie type where nothing slips off and you can actually pick it up is the way to attack it

It's Egg Shade Yellow food dye, thats why he didnt want to show it on tv. Every deep dish dough has eggs in it, its no secret. That crust is way too yellow for jsut eggs

yeah could be because the yolks have a lot of fat in it and a deep dish dough must be a bit fatty. And also to make it soft and fluffy on the inside

Midwestern pizzas are the best to me since/sense i and from Détróit I love our style deep dish, Chicago deep dish and thin crust styles and a Detroit chicago style with a top crust and san Louis style thin crust with provel cheese

cornmeal is in it to give it better texture as well as melted butter for the color. people think eggs but that's wrong. you don't put eggs in a pizza crust.

Why? If you don't want meat on a pizza, it's always been an option. As a matter of fact, you will see more meatless Italian pizzas than with. Not sure why it's a big deal

Pizza is dough, red sauce, and cheese. You can do anything to it from there. In Naples the big pizza nowadays is pizza frita - they literally fry the dough. I'm sure 'pizza snobs' would hate that. Regular Chicago pizza is actually thin crust, very crispy, cut into squares 'tavern style'. That's what most people eat regularly - deep dish is more of a special thing

As a Euro with a Italian roots, i have to say , from the alternatives styles ( American ) Deep dish has a special place in my heart. But Napolitan style , yeah, it's in another league.

it's another bartolis out in riverforest,IL locally called riverforest pizza but to the old heads in the surrounding towns it's bartolis n it's absolutely on point

I Took the Deep dish idea and did a Canadian twist to it We added Pulled pork cooked in Maple syrup Real bacon bits And Smoked Gouda You need a knife and fork because it fills the pan ..BTW my pan unlocks so you dont have to try and pop the food out

correct sir. it is melted butter, and cormeal that goes into the crust. Specifically with a nutritional yeast ans sugar.

If you can't eat it with your hands, it's not pizza!!!

That tomato tart with cheese is a pizza, but if someone throws pineapple on their pizza, people go nuts.

For the people that say "why would you eat pizza with cutlery" you wouldn't know unless you had a deep dish slice, it's hard to pick it up and eat it, it'll fall down. It's a pie basically. You don't eat pie slices with your hand
