60% unemployment doesn't tell us anything. Is there an actual lack of jobs or are people staying home and gaming the system instead of working? Closing the border might stop the migrant invasion, but it wouldn't totally solve illegal immigration in general. To do the latter you must police the interior and allow everyone found illegally residing to be thrown out, no exceptions for so-called good behavior. You also have to institute E Verify nation-wide to keep them off our jobs. You also need to eliminate birthright citizenship which was never the intent of the law pertaining to that.

Well, the answer to that is simply. Boarder states have boarder states issues because they are boarder states. Vermont is not going to have a boarder issue like Texas. This really is a federal government issue seeing as how they are responsible for securing the boarder. So, the smart thing would have been to send them to DC and to the areas that these super rich politicians live. But the politicians don't want a secure boarder, if they did, we would have by now. Legally it is not any taxpayers problem. Trump pulled the US out of the "non-binding" UN migrants treaty. Under that treaty illegal migrants would receive essentially the same benefits as citizens of the country. Trump saw through that treaty and got the US out of it. Under US federal law illegal migrants are not entitled to anything which is why they are showing up in large numbers in the "sanctuary" cities.

Please, Mayor, talking about Venezuela's "great depression," how many millions of Americans were able to have their migration/escape from their home country arranged for them during their great depression? Doesn’t matter if they don’t actually qualify for asylum, by the time their time in court comes they’ve had families and they’re anchored here. Send them back.
