Chicago Live Concert - July 30, 2019 - San Antonio Texas

Музыка

Excellent concert by the supergroup. This is the third time I have seen them perform live - and the best. All their biggest hits, plus some nice lesser known songs. See them live!!!!

    I'm so proud of Neil. He is living his dream up on that stage. Him and my Dad use to sing in a band in the 70s. My Dad is in heaven now - but he's watching Neil shine bright onstage with Chicago. Go Neil!

    What an incredible band and super lineup. I always felt IMHO nobody could replace the magic of Champlin & Scheff and was really upset when they both left. Glad to see every newcomer shine like a fine wine in this megagroup. Champlin and Imboden served 28 years each. Scheff did 31. And this year the master axeman Keith Howland completes his 25th year. Lou Pardini on his 11th & Walfredo Reyes drummer extraordinaire 8 years and counting. One of USA's ICONS!!!

    Saw them first just before CTA album came out. Seen them 35 to 40 times . I must say I think Howland is a great fit, didn't care fore the in betweens. I much prefer Pardini to Champlin. Also thought Scheff did a great job, but Coffey was a better singer.

    Saw them a couple of weeks ago. My jaw DROPPED when I heard Neil Donnell. Reminded me of the first time I heard Arnel Pineda lead singer of Journey live. Could not believe what I was hearing, with such a HUGE and soulful voice coming out of such a small man! Neil is a saving grace for Chicago much like Arnel was for Journey. MIND BLOWING!!!

    This summer was my 45th Chicago concert. The players have changed over the decades but the music goes on. Robert, Jimmy and Lee have added some excellent musicians to help them carry on the legacy of the original seven. They never disappoint and their longevity is unrivaled. Here's to another 52 years for America's Band.

    Not to be disrespectful, I simply didn't like the new singer and the drumming. I came to this video trying to learn what these new members sounded like, and I didn't like them. In all likelihood, they are not bad, and I suspect they are all quite professional.... but I believe Peter Cetera, Jeff Coffey and Jason Scheff had better suited vocal color for the material, and as for drums, Tris Imboden was super competent, and Danny Seraphine was phenomenal. Not too happy about this bunch, but unlike other people on here, I won't poop on them. Thanks to Douglas Logan for the excellent upload, and even though I didn't like the new members, I would still go see them if I get the chance. Thanks!

  • @sticks64

    @sticks64

    Well, let's see. The band was originally seven members. Then, in 1974, Laudir de Oliveira was added as a percussionist so they became an octet. These days, Ramon Yslas is handling percussion. In 1978, Terry Kath, who was their original guitarist and one of their three original lead vocalists, died in a tragic gun accident. Ultimately, the band opted to have separate guitarists and baritone vocalists. Keith Howland has been their guitarist since 1995 and Lou Pardini has been handling baritone vocal duties since 2009. In 1985, original bassist and tenor lead vocalist left the band. Up until last year, they still had a combination bassist/tenor in the band. When Jeff Coffey left, they brought in bassist Brett Simons and tenor vocalist Neil Donnell. All the guys who have passed through this band were talented and added something different to the band. That said, IMHO, the raw talent in this particular lineup is the best and most versatile they've had since 1985 when Peter Cetera left.

    Lmao Thanks for the great sound quality. Stay home next time. Leave it to the professionals.

    Wow. As far as I know, there are no "professional" full concert videos from this year on YT. Personally, I appreciate the fact that they took the time to record this and to post it. Apparently, so are a lot of other people.

    These guys are such a joke. It's just all the pointless members of the band trying to cash in on the name now. Their success was all on the voice of Peter Cetera & then actual talented outside of the band songwriters. This is just pathetic and sad.

    El éxito de CTA se debió gracias a ese inmenso músico que fue Terry Kath. Cetera aportó su voz pero asimismo, destrozó a la banda volviendola comercial, perdiendo esa fuerza que la caracterizó en sus comienzos. Con la muerte de Terry Kath tb murió CTA.
