Like every other long time Chicagoan, I'm still disgusted that Marshall Fields eventually became a Macy's. Fields was high quality stuff. Their Christmas time mechanical animations were a sight to behold.

beautiful - someone posted a video of christmas windows from herald square in NY and it looks like an giant IPAD display - like a tacky scene from Blade Runner...ugh

I wish marshall field's would go back to this style of display. Because what they're showing now is some stupid electronic show, basically watching tv on a big screen.
