Something about Champlin's voice just makes me shiver!

Bill and Jason were killer,amazing,emotional duo in this song.

I was looking for a decent live version of this song when I came across this video. As I am watching it I realized that I WAS ACTUALLY AT THIS SPECIFIC CONCERT.

GREAT Version... Champlin rocks it and Scheff is at the top of his game here.

These two guys resurrected the band, made them relevant again with some chart topping songs. They put their time in but apparently never fully respected as band members. Bill Champlin one of the most versatile musicians, Jason had big shoes to fill and was incredible. Still one of my all time favorite groups. First concert I ever attended live! I was hooked and continue to enjoy each iteration of the group.

Bill Champlin blows me away...one of the greatest blue eyed soul singers on the planet and Jason Scheff is great......he's an excellent replacement for Cetera...here's a fun fact, when Cetera quit, Chicago originally asked Bobby Caldwell to join, he turned them down

Bill is really gettin it in this piece. Soul with an edge....

Peter was great, and so was Jeff. They have distinct qualities that are incomparable, but I think Jeff and Bill absolutely nailed it in this particular performance. This kid (back then) has this groove and presence that made the difference.

Wow, Bill's on fire here! Another great performance is Soundstage.

I love the singers as they duet. I wish though, Bill also swings his body like Jason; these are magical partners I always visualize.

I saw Chicago in Melbourne last night and Jason was great! His voice was really strong and he still has a fantastic range. He really belted out 26 or 6 to 4. Have seen lots of comments about people not liking him. After all this time, it's a shame he is still compared with Peter Cetera - they're different singers. Oh, Chicago was an amazing concert BTW! First time I've seen them live. Right up there with Toto.

Indeed, they're both different singers, and each very talented. I don't know why Cetera worship is such an intense obsession, why can't they enjoy all the great musicians that Chicago has had over the years without prejudice?

Billy really brought it all on this song tonight. I was really happy to see Billy sing like from the 80's again.

it's really hard to break a habit...specially if that habit is when you love someone more than anything else...

Come on people, we all know that the Chicago from back then will not be the same. but hey this guy ain't bad at all and every one is talking shit like they can do any better. get on this guy's shoes..

I don't know of any other bands so diverse in terms of instruments. The only types of bands these days that have trumpets and trombones are ska-core. I also love that they're all doing vocals and not just one lead singer

I'm so tired of hearing people whine about how bad Scheff sings. Peter left the band on his own, and Chicago wanted to keep playing. They auditioned and signed Jason, and he's doing his best. Yes, he's no Cetera, but I believe that NO ONE can sing like Cetera did. He had vocal talent like nobody's business. Aren't we glad Chicago is still playing?? I sure am! Kind of interesting to see who is touring every year after Cetera left Chicago (hint: it's not Peter Cetera).

Funny how people complained about how Jason butchers this song, I've seen Chicago with Cetera and with Jason, both singers butcher the song live, but I still had a great time, since I don't expect them to sound like the album. I recently saw Cetera live with David Foster and this time, I wish he should have retired, it was really painful to watched

Saw their concert a few days ago. Jason sucked big time. My wife and I were embarrassed for him. It was actually worse than a karaoke rendition and unfortunately soured the overall experience. Really sad. So it actually shocked to me to see this video back in the day when he could pull a decent performance. You wonder why they let him continue doing this?

@yeoGlover Jason's best vocal is from a song called BIgger Than Elvis. I dont mind him on songs that he either wrote or sung after Cetera left. However hearing im or anyone sing Cetera's songs is brutal. Same would go for any other band once you are used to a certain singer. I dont give a rats ass if Cetera comes back he left for a lackluster solo career i think he had 4 or 5 songs make the radio in that 25 years.

Not really. This version really showcase Champlins' singing. It's refreshing and not in the style of Cetera. Listen to it again and you'll see.

Naw. Peter Ceter is a classic vocalist and isn't pitchy like Scheff. Scheff is much groovier on bass though. They're both different like you say, but Cetera has the vocal chops.

"Peter Cetera vs Jason Scheff" like there is a competition or something it's pretty much like Pink Floyd fan's dilema "Waters vs Gilmour": pointless but forever lasting

Jason's voice isnt as full as Peter's very thin by comparison
