Trouble is rarely by the fans at the ground its dudes coked up boozing in pubs watching it then pour out for a fight at full time.That's my personal experience , win ,lose or draw trouble always breaks out, before the Charlie it was boozed up loonys stabbing and slashing other fans some times lots of fights among different gangs who supported the same team.

In Scotland it is banter, it's the culture, you work hard and play hard, and the religious hatred has been about since before the formations of both clubs

I played a gig in Glasgow in 2001, we toured the whole of the UK and Scotland, I have to say Glasgow was the best gig , crowd was INSANE!!! But funny story as we pulled up to the venue to get out and load out our gear from the van, 2 skinhead guys were fighting, 1 dude was smashing another dudes face into a metal Shop shutter over and over and over again shouting "ye F*kin bastard!!!" LMAO it was like "welcome to Glasgow " hahaha. The gig was amazing though the venue was great and the crowd were f*cking brilliant, biggup Glasgow peeps, you lot are nuts but I kinda like it

Facts : The old limited company which owned Rangers FC is not the club. The ltd co went into receivership and ownership of the club was transferred before the old company was wound up so there was no break in ownership. As far as Rangers FC goes the club's registration with the SFA and the league was continuous with no break. This is recognised by UEFA. Championship number 56 is on its way!

I lived in Scotland for 25 years and never once went to an old firm game. I will say I had got a lot better by the time I left in 2017, but the possibility of violence was still present, and I’m not gonna put myself in that position. When rangers went bust, the SFL teams voted to put them down to the bottom division out of spite but didn’t consider the loss of money from tv rights. The lower leagues loved it because of the financial benefits were great with tv rights and rangers fans going to the games.

This is misleading is an understatement. Before joining the british militafy in the late 80s I had been whats labelled as a football hooligan. A hibs (Hibernian) casual. In the 80s I watched rangers casuals attack the exit from the family enclosure where some of us were standing. Kids and parents running as the scum hit the parents. 1984/5 had been the time and I remember it vividly. Hibernian is an older team although had an Irish heritage from the dock workers. Then there is hearts or heart of midlothian. Exactly the same situation as the two glasgow teams. Catholic team in green. Same hatred. These days it is drastically different, yes we still get the odd few. On a site I had subcontracted my company to another builder. Talking to one supervisor I asked how will your company do knowing you have a Catholic Hibernian supporter on site. I had been shocked that this rangers supporter got offended at the comment and quite quickly told me he hated those types of people, religion has absolutely nothing to do with football. If im honest, that coming from a rangers supporter who are well known foe their hatred of Catholics showed me how much things have changed. Personally I still think their pro britain union jack waving has just as little to do with who we are as a scottish people.

Celtic have some history in Europe, the Scottish league is not very strong, but Celtic have won European Trophies, but a long time ago (60's) but Celtic or Rangers (which ever one is dominant at the time) usually are in the champions league each year, and if a team is in the champions league each year then they are a good team. Rangers have won one of the lesser European competitions in the 70's but neither club has won much outside of Scotland, although Rangers have been runners up in the Europa a couple of times in the last 10-15 years and Celtic finished runners up in the same competition 2002. Celtic and Rangers absolutely dominate Scottish football though , they both have over 50 league titles (Celtic =53, Rangers 55) and a stupid amount of Scottish cups. They do not play in the same league as Liverpool and Manchester United and Chelsea etc, if they did they might finish mid table, but they would not challenge for titles in England So put that in perspective the top tier in Scotland started in 1890, so that is 133 years , and Rangers and Celtic have won 108 ..combined. so that is 25 titles in 133 years NOT won by either club. Both clubs have won more than twice the league titles than every other Scottish club...COMBINED!!!

I have been to a Rangers v Celtic Football match, and you Yanks would shit yourself if you went to see a match between the old firm rivals. I come from London and I am a Chelsea fc fan from London who have a close association with Rangers fc as our first manager for Chelsea fc in 1905 came from Rangers fc and of course our kit that the players ware is Royal Blue and White, the same as Rangers fc colours. Rangers v Celtic is amazing inside the Stadium but outside it's pure hatred and definitely feels like you are in a War. The match was at Ibrox Stadium the home of Rangers fc which is just a beautiful Stadium with the capacity of 55,000. The Atmosphere is the best I have ever heard and will never forget. I am nearly 60 years old and I have supported my Football Club Chelsea fc for 56 years since the age of 3, I have been to many Football matches around England with Chelsea fc and in other parts of Europe and I have never seen or heard the atmosphere and hated rivalry than I witnessed at an old firm game between Rangers fc and Celtic fc. You as an American think that you have amazing atmospheres at Sports events in the United States but you don't. Come to Europe and go to Football matches and take in the great atmosphere's at Football Stadium's in Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Spain, Portugal, Austria and other countries on mainland Europe, then come to England and Visit Chelsea fc, Manchester United, Liverpool fc, Tottenham Hotspur fc and other Premier League Stadiums for Football matches and at the end go to the old firm match between Rangers fc and Celtic fc, and witness the most atmospheric, loudest, intense game you will ever witness in your life.
