I remember Joe Dumars said after they lost the first two games to Chicago in the ECF. He said “They knew they were in trouble then. Once MJ started get his teammates involved and still get his 30 ppg, it became impossible to beat them.”
MJ's Bulls will forever impact basketball and generations to come.

When 1 player can mold other players into his needs and ways, thats a great teammate. He may not have been the bestest of friends with his peers, but he was the greatest of teammates for pushing them to achieve higher levels of their own play style and skillset.

They kept adding to the puzzle. Stop trying to be a deep philosopher. They got their tails kicked throughout the 80s because they were young and the guys on Jordan’s level, for example, bird, magic and Isaiah had their teams all in their prime. By the time Jordan and the bulls were ready, the other three guys were over the hill. Even Thomas missed 50 plus games in 1991 and they were losing players to expansion drafts and injuries. Of course Jordan fans just say it was cause Michael was sooooo determined this year and he hit the gym more to add muscle.
Man, do I miss that swarming hyenas of a defense the Bulls had. Nothing like it today.

Greatest time to be alive!!!! The 80's 90's was golden!!!! I give everything to go back to them days
I started to like and watch basketball because of.....CHICAGO BULLS !! I love Michael Jordand, Scottie pippen and the whole players.
And with that- the 90s was born. So much fun.
BULLS at 90s have changed the understanding of the game at global scale forever. Without today's social media tools, what they have done was a global culture injection for the game. I feel beyond fortunate to be a witness of that particular era.

That is true about them both. Jordan's game was considered and often referred to as "graceful" as well. They were similiar players when it came to grace and athleticism. Jordan just had those intangibles that Pippen didn't, and that is what set them apart. But together, they were unstoppable. My top two favorite players back then.

His career is actually overrated. Without playing & practicing with MJ everyday & the 6 titles on his resume you’d just have a 7x All-Star in (17 seasons) that was a marginal offensive player & an elite defender. His career would be that of a Jimmy Butler with less offense.

One way to get to Chicago is to get through Detroit as a Bulls Fan and Blackhawks fan that was the saying because the Pistons and Red Wings made our teams lives’ hell. The Bears have the Green Bay curse, they still haven’t overcome that one yet, although they did have a monster 1985 championship season where they won. They haven’t been able to reclaim glory again and overcome Green Bay in the process. The White Sox and Cubs conquered their curses and became champions as time went on, 2005 for the White Sox and 2016 for the Cubs. It’s fun to be a fan of a great sports team.
For all you haters , who keep saying MJ is selfish , like he wins by himself ..who other players (27:10) bring all his teammates to accept his MVP throphy ? 27:38 its Magic vs Michael thing...and MJ said , "well its a big media hype we know that but its very imprtant for me as a player and one of the main focal points not to take away from the teams.". He always give props to everyone team player...when he wins , he make sure he give credit to his guys .❤
Jerry Krause was a monster He hired Phil who brought Tex Drafted Jordan his drafts and trades He was a mad scientist in personel Decisions He wanted his props and was willing to blow up the team to get it But all in all the man knew the talent that fit that system He laid a blue print a template
I always love how fans demand great performances every night but they can't do no better or anything at all

Magic was actually only 31 back then, and he was still playing his best basketball. The HIV positive is what stopped him from playing. Players did have worse longevity back then, and a lot of them were already losing some of their stats by the early 30s, but Magic was still playing his best game. These days you have guys like Curry and Lebron who are still top easily top 10, and that's with injuries and wear and tear. MJ had good longevity as well. There's a misconception that Magic wasn't playing as good that year, but then you find out and he was only 31 and look at his stats and you'll see it was one of his better years. HIV took him out of basketball.

I don’t think Chicago had anything to do with it. Charlotte lead the NBA in attendance for 10 years or so beginning in the mid to late 80’s. If we would have had MJ and his teams, could you imagine the excitement? We grew up with MJ, and we were basketball crazy. Chicago had been used to losers since they first got a team. I think Chicago is a great sports town, but they were only supporting the Bulls because they were so good. We were selling out a 24,000 seat arena in Charlotte when we weren’t winning more than 20 games.

@76JStucki
Жыл бұрын
It’s absolutely true, Krause built those teams. And he was right to go after Kukoc. His mistake, and the reason for the animosity, is that he tried to downplay the role of the players on the floor in order to get more attention for himself. That and screwing Scottie Pippen. He brought the animosity on himself. When you’re an executive or a GM, you don’t need to be a press darling. He was already highly regarded by the right people. If he’d kept his head down and his mouth shut, things would have turned out better, at least from a PR perspective.

MJ is no doubt the goat but I think people do not realize how much of a team sport basketball is. Without Pippen alone I doubt they could have made any championship runs. He did make teammates better but they also had their own individual talent that’s all I’m saying.
