Chicago 4K - Night Drive - Driving Downtown
Thursday night drive around downtown Chicago. Video starts along the Chicago River along Wacker Drive, continues to State Street, then to the Magnificent Mile Michigan Avenue, passes under the popular Chicago Loop subway network, and completes along the Theater District. Enjoy!
Chicago is the 2nd most visited city in the US, with 58 million domestic and international visitors in 2018, behind New York City's approximate 65 million visitors. Chicago is an international hub for finance, culture, commerce, industry, technology, telecommunications, and transportation. It is the site of the creation of the first standardized futures contracts at the Chicago Board of Trade, which today is the largest and most diverse derivatives market globally, generating 20% of all volume in commodities and financial futures. O'Hare International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world, and the region also has the largest number of U.S. highways and greatest amount of railroad freight. In 2012, Chicago was listed as an alpha global city by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network, and it ranked seventh in the entire world in the 2017 Global Cities Index. The city ranked first place in the 2018 Time Out City Life Index, a global quality of life survey of 15,000 people in 32 cities.The city is also home to several fortune 500 companies, the most notable being, Allstate, Boeing, Exelon, McDonald's, Quaker Oats, and United Airlines Holdings. Landmarks in the city include Millennium Park, Navy Pier, the Magnificent Mile, the Art Institute of Chicago, Museum Campus, the Willis (Sears) Tower, Grant Park (Chicago), the Museum of Science and Industry, and Lincoln Park Zoo. Chicago's culture includes the visual arts, literature, film, theater, comedy (especially improvisational comedy), food, and music, particularly jazz, blues, soul, hip-hop, gospel, and electronic dance music including house music. Of the area's many colleges and universities, the University of Chicago, Northwestern University, and the University of Illinois at Chicago are classified as "highest research" doctoral universities. Chicago has professional sports teams in each of the major professional leagues, including two Major League Baseball teams.

I grew up in Chicago, born and raised in the Windy City, I love the sound of Chicago traffic at night when I go to sleep it’s so relaxing 😌 and calming, and the city is so beautiful from my window at night :)

Mr. West lndian t.v. Chicago is racist af, white people there are racist and stuck up no diversity once you leave the city all white people majority areas with pockets of Asians . They literally force all the black communities to the south side and southern areas.

The Loop is SO much nicer than Manhattan IMO. I was just in Manhattan a week ago, and although I do like going there, it is so dirty and smells like sewage on every corner. The Loop looks so beautiful and you can not beat that skyline, it is kept pretty darn clean for a city of it's size and no sewage smell. Can't wait to go back to the windy city.

I'm from NYC born & raised and it bothers me to read about how smelly it is (you certainly aren't the first) -- what bothers me is that I don't notice anything. Other than walking by a dumpster in summer, a quick unpleasant whiff of something. But certain tourists claim ALL of manhattan smells like piss....

Madd Dogg yes, but they are crammed together in a chaotic way that removes the grandeur of the architecture. Chicago skyline and blocks are so well-organized and clean-cut.

Allen Morgan Chicago is the most segregated racist big city in America. Suburbs are mostly 70% white and nightlife is very segregated. Not too much racial mixing and blacks are confined the south side and surroudong southern suburbs. A lot of racial tension and lack of diversity compared to NY, LA, Dallas, Houston, DC , Miami or Atlanta.

Best city in America and i’ve lived in Manhattan and San Fran. Went to visit last year and stayed at the Embassy Suites. So convenient. Walked everywhere. Whole Foods across the street, Target, Walgreens, jazz clubs, restaurants, lake, Michigan Ave for shopping. Took uber everywhere. Hopped on the bus. Didn’t need a car at all. Easy to get to airport too via train. Cities should be like European and Asian cities, where having a car is an inconvenience. NY is too crowded and dirty, and has too many crazies. San Fran has the most homeless and is a toilet bowl, and the bus takes forever. Best city in the world is London in the west or Tokyo in the east.

Never realized Chicago was such a huge and beautiful city. The other thing I noticed is that most of the traffic lights are synchronized which keeps the traffic flowing smoothly. Also wide streets and beautiful street lights for the pedestrians.

I love going down to the pier every Saturday during the summer to see the Navy pier fireworks, I go to see the Fourth of July fireworks at navy pier, and the New Years fireworks at Navy pier, Chicago is stunning and gorgeous at night, I’m am so lucky to live in such a great majestic beautiful city :)

We live in Chicagoland area Western Suburbs. However my husband grew up on the Southside of Chicago... "the hood" right by Cook County Jail. I can just look at the beautiful skyline of Chicago all day long.

Excellent video as usual J Utah. :) I know you've done some of the PCH around the LA area. But was wondering if a trip from SF to LA along the 1 on the coast would be doable. It is coastal almost the entire time as far as I can see on google maps. I know the PCH goes all the way to Seattle, but don't want to push it. :p I've seen a few other KZreadrs do it, but they are often highly shortened and always with pounding music. One was labeled something along the lines of; "long drive along the Pacific Coast Highway." and it was 15 minutes long... When your initial reaction when seeing a J Utah video of 50 minutes is; "Ohh, a short video this time." - 15 minutes is nothing. No clue if it's even possible storage wise.
I always watch this in the car while my mom is driving in downtown Chicago so it’s like what lol😂😂🤣🤣
