That BASS in these songs though. Holy hell. Tastiest bass licks ever. These songs were ancient history already by the time I was born, but I rediscovered them thanks to some folks around. And those bass licks, maaaaaaaaan! ...And should add, played by actual humans. That is a definite for me.

All happened because they couldn't get into studio 54 !

This was inspired when Nile Rodgers & Bernard Edwards (Who Co Wrote Virtually All Of Their Hits). They were guests of Grace Jones at the Legendary Studio 54, they weren't allowed in and they wrote "Le Freak" to tell the Co Owners (The Late Steve Rubell) and his Partner Ian Schrager to F Off! It ended up being one of the biggest hits of tThe Disco Era. When they talked about Stompin At The Savoy, that Club The Soap Club in New Jersey as well as Xenon were some of New York and New Jersey's Hottest Clubs but try as they might they didn't measure up to Studio 54. The owners would get their comeuppance for income tax fraud and skimming funds who did time in a Texas Prison. They made a comeback in Hotels but Steve would die of AIDS a couple of Months before Fashion Designer Halston did. They also did Good Times in 1979 and the melody would be used on the first Rap Song called "Rapper's Delight". They broke up in the early 1980's but Nile Rodgers is still a legend. He and Bernard would Co Write alot of Hits for Diana Ross (I'm Coming Out, The Boss, & Upside Down) before he left Motown in 1981. Then They also wrote "He's The Greatest Dancer" and "We Are Family" for Sister Sledge, Nile also worked with Madonna, David Bowie (RIP), on Let's Dance that Puff Daddy would later sample for "Been Around The World". Nile would also work with Duran Duran after Andy Taylor & Roger Taylor (No Relation) left on Notorious. One of their "Other" Songs "Everybody Dance" would later be covered by The UK Group Steps 1996-2001 as well as Kimberley Walsh formerly of Girls Aloud. "We Are Family" was an audition Song on Popstars The Rivals in 2002. Tony Thompson would join The Power Station which was an outside Project of Duran Duran.
