I fought against him today @ Imperial College London. He was amazing, I had no chance against his Jodan. Legend.

in jodan, your shinai stays above your head, approx. 45 degrees backwards, whereas in hasso no kamae it's usualy on the right side of your head, tsuba at the heigh of your mouth, almost straight up.

jodan(sword high), hasso kamae (sword up at the right shoulder). Go to Kendo class to check actual difference..

@Arthur7474 The do isn´t the problem, the problem is your left kote and that the opponent knows from where you will be strikeing, which makes you vunerable to counters (mostly to the do, if you mean that, then yeah).

Kendo is not a funny thing. when you step into the dojo or whenever you practice kendo, you have to put your mind and body together, you must dedicate yourself into it. just a suggestion. domo arigato.

I truly respect Chiba sensei and all kendo practitioners. But I don't know man, his execution and leads from a Jodan stance seem kinda off.
