Chiari Malformation Part 3 (How to sort it out) by Dr. David Saperstein

Chiari Malformation Part 3 (How to sort it out) by Dr. Saperstein.
Chiari malformation (CM) is a condition where brain tissue extends into the spinal canal. It causes structural defects in the base of the skull and cerebellum. The cerebellum controls voluntary movements such as standing, walking, balance, coordination, eye movements, and speech. Typically, the cerebellum and parts of the brain stem sit above the opening in the skull which allows the spinal cord to pass through it. This opening is called the foramen magnum. When a part of the cerebellum extends below the foramen magnum and into the upper spinal canal, it is referred to as Chiari Malformation.
Dr. Saperstein has spent over 20 years diagnosing and caring for Chiari Malformation. At the Center for Complex Neurology, Dr. Saperstein and his team will make an assessment of your Chiari Malformation and guide you through the most appropriate and effective treatment for your condition. I look forward to someone that comes up with more non surgical ways to sought this out. Mines an acquired chiari 6mm no headaches, but co-ordination and slight gait foot and balance issue on my right side. Nobody here knows what to do.

Wish you could be my neurologist 😢 My Chiari is 12mm and here in MT they just don’t know enough about Chiari- so I’m told over and over it can’t possibly be causing my symptoms. 😢 So I just keep getting more and more meds for migraines- When I KNOW there’s more wrong. 😢
