    Sweet build I have the same blue frame, but nothing else yet. Do you know what the plug is on the stock battery that has the 6 pin connector? I always see these battery swaps and I'm trying to build my own battery and have the power adapter and the charge adapter, but I haven't figured out that 6 pin connector and if I even need it when I build my own battery doesn't look like Chi cared about it much either.

    I have a Sur Ron with seat extender .. did the battery cover close okay, or did you need to install alternatives? I may have missed that part, sorry!

    Thanks for guiding me to this Vid. I wanted to see how you installed all the parts that came with it. The base plate, especially. Did you have to turn the bike upside down to get to it?

    I didn't flip the bike. Found it kinda funny they did in their install video. I just laid below and did everything from the bottom. No biggie.

    I was wondering if the battery lid closed without any modification when you used the seat extender? Thanks

    Hey curious!… What’s the weight difference overall between stock and this battery?? Thinking about getting the same 60V/60Ah gladiator as you did! Thank you for the help!

    I'd say like 10 lbs. Haven't weighed them but once you have a upgraded controller with the chi battery, the added weight isn't an issue.

    Oh man It turns into a workout after a while. I had to swap out the original wrap with a thinner one In order to get rid of how tight it is to slide in. Chibattery sent me the new shrink wrap and it’s so much easier now.

    Nice! I still have my stock battery with an ANT BMS installed in it. I may try to make it swappable for when we camp off the grid so I can get more riding in.

    @@owlexpedition7199 Are you thinking about maybe doing an ant BMS install video in the future? Why did you install a new BMS in the stock battery? I have seen a couple posts and videos of the stock 60v BMS going dead even talked to a guy who had his die after the first 10min of ownership

    @@liamchisholm I took video of the install, but later realized more than half of it was out of frame. It wasn't too hard to install though. You really just need basic wiring/soldering skills. I replaced mine because it's much safer than doing a bypass.

    @@AmenCornerRider if you live in NY, strange tends to be very difficult and leaving the bike outside with the battery in NY winter, it’s not a good thing. I have access to a garage which I keep my bike in but I bring the battery inside charge.

    Hello I just received my 60v from chi battery is it normal for the percentage to go up and down like that when not connected because my seems to do that same

  • @owlexpedition7199

    @owlexpedition7199

    Not sure what you mean. Voltage will go up and down depending on load. You'll get "voltage sag" when you start riding as the voltage drops when amps are being pulled. It should level back out when you stop though.

  • @ow-my-achilles1106

    When not using the battery, the voltage level and percentage readout will be stable. But when actually riding, both voltage and percentage will drop or "sag" depending how much current you are demanding from it. Even if you have a brake regen setup, the voltage will spike during regen. But at rest, it will quickly (seconds) stabilize. It's totally normal. The stock Sur Ron battery only reads out percentage, and if you hammer on it a a minute, and stop and immediately look at the readout, it will quickly climb a few percentage points, and stabilize. Just the way these batteries and BMS systems behave.

    How do these work if they don’t use that second connection?

  • @owlexpedition7199

    @owlexpedition7199

    2 жыл бұрын

    What second connection? You mean the 6 pin from the factory controller? If so, they give you a little jumper to trick the controller. If you have an aftermarket controller like a BAC, the second connection becomes totally obsolete.
