I have one of them old Victor Tall intakes. Pretty good unit. That bowtie cast iron is a damn good intake for a dualplane. Used to see alot of them on boat engines and dirt track cars.

I'd be interested in seeing cylinder distribution and individual AFRs on the dyno with ported manifolds. It's no surprise that if a person removes some material and smooths out the runners that cfm increases along with hp but what does it look like to each cylinder?

I figure getting the flows close port to port has to be a step in the right direction. Thanks

@servediocylinderheads And I agree with you but It'd be interesting to see some manifolds "tuned" using AFRs. That's more of an "no expense spared" motorsports engine program thing though.

Hi Charlie Would it be possible to check the port velocity on each of the manifolds when bolted to the same cylinder head while on the flow bench? It might be nothing more than interesting data but data none the less. Thanks Andrew

What about using David Vizard’s IOP program to measure port energy density, etc. on manifolds?

I would need to measure the lengths and cc of the runners and the port on the head. Getting the intake manifold runner cc correct would be problematic. Good idea, just tough to do.

Call me crazy and probably not the right thing to do. But I've built many Q-Jets and would like to thin down the throttle shafts and port an 800 for the street. 69 Camaro 421 SBC cruise 2000-2200 at 60 mph. My goal is 570 hp.

I have done it. The real secret is rods and hangers on quadrajets. Fully port the body too.

@@servediocylinderheads yes exactly. Thanks for the video. Just trying to figure out what intake. I wish someone would make an aluminum intake like the Bowtie.

Hi Don Q jets are a very good carb that get a bad reputation. That can be a good thing for you when someone else thinks your car can't be that fast 'cause it has a quadrabog carb on it. I have a q jet off of a 454 of some year that has an extra enrichment circuit kind of in the choke tower on the carb stud side. There are two small holes and extra fuel is pulled out when air velocity is higher. I don't know if that was that common but I haven't seen another one like it. Andrew

@@dondotterer24 The aluminum version is Holley only. Supposedly the Edelbrock performer makes similar power. I have trouble believing that.
