I'm having issues with my 6L90 in my 17 express 3500 and this video helpped the confidence level with working on it myself. I can work on motors all day but not much experience with transmissions. Great video!
Great job and great video to help others get fixed by shelf transmisión thanks is gone help me
Awesome stuff bud. Love seeing the dad in the shop with you. Sure miss mine. Thank you for the video.
Thank you I found the transmission holder!!🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you for your time 🎉
The 6L engines with a 6L90 transmission are nice package. I have a 2500HD the body will be toast before it gives up on me. Glad to see your dad in the shop.

Unfortunately that’s what I thought. Just hit 67,000 on mine- transmission failed and is in need of a complete rebuild. Discouraging, as I bought this truck for it’s bulletproof reputation.

@tangleass: the repair went fine, truck has been perfect since. I would still recommend it as a great all around towing vehicle.
Great video!

Thanks
Yea if you needed to get it running this week you did it right. Plus you can gather some billet parts for down the road. I have home built a couple and have had my share of pulling it back apart. So now I just take my time and replace everything I need to.

Thanks. I will have more confidence for the next time I have to pull it apart. For this one…We will get a chance to see how I did on 13 Aug when we race it from Las Vegas to Reno. Thanks for watching.
Wow so happy to see a new video on your channel. Where have you been 😂

Had to go back to my real job and a month of simulators training in the A320. We are back now getting ready for Vegas to Reno on 13 Aug.

@@ntdracing nice, my buddy works at Airbus. What I find annoying of the A320/319 is the barking upon landing, so annoying 😂😂
Hi, thanks for sharing this. My friend's 2019 3/4 4x4 has about 125,000 miles & yesterday it broke down on the side of the road. Shops estimate $5,000 to fix it. We're in the Nashville Tn area, can you give any advice or recommend any shops? Thanks, - take care
Did you have to reflash or program the transmission computer with the engine?
Iv blown the sprag in my 6l90 twice now at the track during a wheel hop event that I can't seem to fix 😭😭
WOW
What the transmission did ? After you replace te part ! Works good?
It’s true always need computer on this transmission?
nice video, I have the same transmission and my issue is when Transmission is warm, and while getting into traffic or red light when I press the pedal to move forward it moves a bit and it feels like the transmission just goes into neutral, when I put it in manual down to 1st gear the car moves and when I put it into 2nd in lower RPMs the issue happens again but if I rev it up to 3000rpm and then shift into 2nd it shifts fine until next time the car becomes stationary, I plugged in an advanced scanner and I'm sure there are no trouble codes for the transmission the issue seem mechanical, if so can somebody tell me which part should I replace or if even the part is shown or not in this video, ill be very thankful, plus I have the torque converter whining and when the problem happens the whine goes away directly and whining comes back when transmission works again.
What about programming it?
When you install the sprag into the center support, you need to line up the missing splines in the sprag with the missing splines on the center support. It looks like you did that. You also need to line up the end gap of the snap ring with those missing splines to allow oil to flow through. It doesn't look like You did that. Kinda hard to tell, though. Anyways nice video, I can see that you enjoy this stuff and that's great.

I am starting to collect 6L90s that need work (we race them until they no longer work). Thanks for the advice. will make sure I use it on the next one.
Really excellent video. Thanks guy. I sure do feel for you forgetting to flip the clutches over when you were organizing the parts. I saw that and it occurred to me how easily you could make that error and never notice. Dang! Doesn’t seem to be a problem though. I rebuilding my M715 right now. Hope to race in the Baja next year. We’ll see. That’s a long time from now. Biden might have us all blown up by then or in a civil war.
What’s with the blue tape on the garage floor.

My 7yo got the tape and turned the garage into a drifting track for his RC car. I happy to let him do anything that keeps him in the shop learning.
