Chevy K10 Gets Transmission & Brakes - MAJOR PROGRESS!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
We make major progress on the 1976 Chevy Sport K-10 by swapping in a new TH350 transmission delivered by Jay from @IrishOutlawGarage, who gets conned into helping with the installation. Then, the old square body gets brakes all around while this rusty nightmare of a truck turns all efforts into good entertainment. We also take a trip to @Lmctruck1 to pick up a load of parts to supply this squarebody truck revival in the next episodes! Stay Tuned! This build is in full swing!

But the deal with Dodge killed what Roadkill was, and the back hand way they just dropped everyone on KZread like they did was like a gut punch. They completely forgot what made them great. Something I've learned watching these videos recently. 3/4 of getting a mostly reliable junker going is brake jobs, Fuel plumbing, tie rods, and lights. Get those sorted and as long as the motor isn't siezed up it can be made to run no matter how broke down or clapped out it is.

That stepside makes me miss my '86. I didn't realize what I gem I had till I sold it. '86 C10 Silverado trim level (fancy!) stepside, wooden bed, 305, dual side saddle tanks (the exploding kind, don't ya know), Turbo 350 w/lockup TC. Loaded w/tilt, cruise, delay wipers, power windows, locks, steering, brakes, AC, velour bench seat. She was grey metallic with a yellow, orange, and blue stripe kit. I believe the stripe kit was stock. It has been 20 years so don't hold me to it. Still, what an awesome looking truck. Not fast but reliable and the end of an era as that was the last year for a carburetor.
Wow! You’re really going to town on this thing! I’m impressed!
Coming along nicely! Great to see you and your son wrenching together!
Back in 93/94 I used one of these stepsides as a plow truck. It was so rusty the door fell off one night when I hopped out to put gas in it. The frame and drivetrain were solid but the body was beyond gone. Luckily it was crap brown so the rust kind of blended in. It's crowning achievement was the built 383 out of one of my derby cars and the non leaking his and hers sunroofs.

I used to work for a company that made torque converters here in East Tennessee. The torque converters that we made (GM, Ford, Nissan and CVT torque converters) were filled with ATF during final assembly.
When you were doing the transmission swap I was hoping you would not drop it on your head, you didn't, and no trip to the ER was necessary. Big thumbs up to LMC Truck for helping you with body parts.
Great work. JD has becoming quite the helper. Thanks for sharing! 💯

I know that this is probably equivalent to a college of hard knocks education for JD. Much better than the youtuber or hotrod magazine wrote by a kid in pimples that has never ever seen a drum brake or drove one in fact. Your son knows when your pulling his leg for sure and will learn some road respect before he hits the road. Truck is looking kinda puny at the moment but that is what your shopping trip was all about. Kevin will wish he kept it now
