A couple of high-speed expresses are seen passing this rural level crossing a few miles from Amble in Northumberland. It's located next to some passing loops - well-needed additional lines that are often used to hold slower trains such as freight out the way of passenger expresses on this mostly two-track section of the East Coast Main Line - on a road that's quite busy, especially for an un-named road. This is another level crossing with no barrier skirts due to its sparse usage from pedestrians, something you can see at a handful of Northumbrian East Coast Main Line crossings but not a lot elsewhere, so it looks rather strange. This is the most northerly crossing of the nine controlled from Morpeth, and the next level crossing up falls under the control of Alnmouth.
