I'm always happy to see Sam talking about his drums. He has been such an influence on my own playing, especially when it comes to rock dynamics. Truly underrated, much like the entire band.
Chevelle is the tightest three-piece band I have ever seen in my life

@Nathyneo i would say I agree 100 percent, however when I saw rush, I was surrounded by 500,000 reckless Canadians at sars stock and by the time the sound traveled 2 km back it was all muffled hahaha

Kevlar snare head.. Bullet proof truly. My high school used them.
"The Clincher" and "Get Some" are some of my favorite songs ever.
What a great interview of Sam and his rig. I'm a big fan !!
I was on the rail at this show and caught Sam's stick! Absolutely amazing show!

I’ve seen this guy a few times in the past and he is definitely a beast on stage.
awesome that Sam took the time to do this rundown for us . can't wait to hear the new music, fellas. oh, and bring Dean back. Covid gave him a long enough break.

Chevelle is my go to band in 1) a band that I love every song and 2) when I am at work we all work in our own separate areas playing our music and the rule is no swear words. Play what ever you want as long as it's not offensive.
I seen chevelle when they first came out at a Ozzfest in Detroit . They got booed. I remember the singer said "this is a rock show and everyone is sitting down. Detroit responds with a boooooooooo

@@drumrundownit is actually a version made by Justin Pacy called Drum Kubbie. I’m Eric Bice that works with Sam sometimes and brought him that side car rig
Bernard Perdie uses his China cymbal turned bell side up and uses it as a ride, and he gets like 10 different ride zones with different sounds. He also uses the edge as a trash crash.

This audio was captured direct from the bands FOH engineer, in an empty 10k seat arena. We'll be sure to pass on your mix notes.

Ok I could give you a better description of his drums. From the looks of it he’s got a Reference Pure MCC with Die cast hoops instead of the fat tone hoops. He’s right about the rack toms but the floors Mahogany Maple

Unfortunately we only have time to do one artist at a show, and most times only Drums OR Guitar. Loathe is def on the radar, and we will try to catch em next time!
Almost zero info about all those cymbals. I just don't understand.

They're all A Custom Zildjians. Crashes, Ride, Bell, Fx Crash. At 11:09 and then 13:05 they talk more cymbals
The tom was deeper than the bass drum. That kick sounded like a snare, what the hell. Love your playing but that sound was not pleasant.
That sounds so out of phase that I´m gonna throw up D:
