It's... complicated. Kings of England were usually Lords and later Kings of Ireland up until 1937 or 1949 (take your pick), so any princes or dukes from Ireland who went on crusades were Plantagenets who either had only been to Dublin Castle or to lands in the south-east which were considered "tame". They would have had other lands in England or (until John "Lackland"), France.

So the soilders that fought in the crusades where made up of english irish and welsh ( wales was part of england) soilders who fought in the name of christ in the crusades. So i believe ireland did in have a part in the crusades as soilders in the name of christ.

Had France still been a catholic Monarchy then, Ireland would have won its war against England and would today be a catholic Kingdom. There would be no Northern Ireland, and England would have been pressured ever since between two catholic powerhouses.

When the protuguese-brazilian troops invaded and conquered the city they didn't change its name, in repect to the name of this beloved Saint. Until today "São Luíz IX, O Rei Santo" is a well known popular Saint in Brazil

@@mignonthon Le rythme et les voix rendent la compréhension difficile, mais si tu lis les paroles écrites tu verra que beaucoups de mots sont compréhensibles, 50% je dirais. Le reste c'est clairement du latin mais a la sauce française😂

@@eikichisano3396 Je suis assez curieux, ce qui rend la compréhension difficile pour nous c'est la prononciation de toutes les consonnes dans cette chanson. Mais est ce que c'est juste une décision de la part des gens qui interprètent cette chanson (Early Music Consort of London) ou est ce que l'on parlait vraiment comme ca à l'époque? J'ai l'impression qu'ils ont appliqué la logique du latin classique à un texte de vieux Français du XIIe, alors que à l'époque, il y avait déjà un paquet de consommes et de voyelles qu'on ne prononçait plus d'après ce que je peux voir sur l'histoire de la prononciation du Français.

@@RobbStark_ Parce que assoir la France dans le camp des vainqueurs, réunir la resistance, fonder une république monarchique, remettre la France à égalité avec les autres grandes nations, choisir la troisième voie (celle de l'indépendance) dans la guerre froide. France was not, is not and will never be Germanic, the predecesor to today's france is West Francia , not East Francia, The entire area of Alsace was less than 10% of the entire population of the 2 Francias. Paris was part of West Francia and a big city of Gallia Romana , but the capital was Lyon. Moreover , if you actually lived in Germany you'd very quickly realize how Latin you are, you don't have one grain of Germanic culture in you, in fact Germans Austrians and Brits think you are lazy. And moreover, if you take the average French from ALSACE , and you put him right next to an average Icelandic, there is no universe in which you could ever say they look like eachother at all. But i know what you're getting at, Latin America = Brown Mexicans who like to smoke weed and dance regueton, you think this way because today, France is a province of U.S Imperialism , and that's sad but it is what it is. Im fine with you rejecting the term Latin because you think of Mexico , even if that's silly, but to think France is kinda Germanic is beyond stupid, the reason the 2 Francias were created in the first place was because the overwhelming majority of post-Roman Gallia spoke Latin and the Germanic minority did not want to latinize, it's why West Francia had the largest Kingdom of the 2 by quite a margin, and also far more populated.

Settlers of new France were from 3 area in France, not normandy. Btw, English try to present Normands as viking, to justify 1066 as a non french invasion. Major part of 1066 invasion army was from angers city, not at all in normandy. House Plantagenet is also from angers city, that's the angevin empire who lead to the hundred year war.

@@gringologie9302 No not really, There was mainly normands and Bretons. The Plantagenêt just reign in 1153 due to a mariage and a lack of descandants among the Normans. William the Conqueror and Richard "Coeur de Lion" were Normans. Richard was always named "Coeur de Lion" but no "Lion heart" a Small detail but it can be a big one. Note that these are descendants of Rollo, first viking count of Rouen.

@@deathhunter6628 I'm an Indian. Here is some context. Hindu nationalism has been rising in India. They hate Muslims the most, but they aren't fond of Christians either. However, they do side with Christians whenever the two Abrahamic religions are at crossroads, not because they like us, but because they hate Muslims I'm a St. Thomas Orthodox Christian, my family has been Christians for about 2000 years, so they don't hate us as much as the other Christians here, especially the Catholics, because we didn't convert recently (they're ignoring the fact that 90% of Catholics converted about 400 years ago, when the Portuguese began trade with India). Make no mistake, these people hate Christianity. They make an exception for my branch as most of our traditions are very similar to Hindu traditions, and if they do support Christianity, you better bet that its because they hate Muslims that much. I honestly feel bad for Muslims (here in India). They're pretty chill here.

je ne suis pas royaliste, je me qualifierais plus de bonapartiste, mais ce chant est juste une pure merveille, un chant qui prend aux tripe au même niveau que le chant de Saint Louis. C'est vraiment un morceau d'histoire, un témoigne de notre gloire malheureusement passée. J'aime beaucoup ce chant c'est mon préféré de l'époque médiévale, il témoigne vraiment de la ferveur et de la détermination de nos aïeuls pour défendre nos origines et notre foi (même si certains étaient plus régis par l'opportunisme). C'est un morceau d'histoire qui nous a été légué à travers les âges, soyons fiers de notre héritage.
