A Sky Sports News item about the recently created Walking Football project in Chesterfield, it was broadcast on 6 July 2011.
The project came from a Sports Relief fund to support physical activities for those aged over 55. After this publicity this modern health version of football was taken up by many clubs and community groups.
There are now more than a thousand teams in the United Kingdom with Walking Football being played in more than forty countries.
The video features the game's creator John Croot in the background and sees current Chairman of Chesterfield FC, Mike Goodwin, as a participant.
