I have all 635 episodes but I just love the first 8 because of Chester BGood cause he makes Gunsmoke 8seasons were great just replay them makes me happy

Gotta love Chester!! He was so funny and definitely brought the humor to the show. Hated he left the series, but sure glad Dennis Weaver didn't give up acting for singing!!😁

By far my favorite character on gunsmoke.

This video is black and blue, and I love it!

When this show first aired on tv, mom would make toasted hoagies. Dad like smoked kippers and a beer. I loved the kippers. Dad would give me a tiny glass of Hamm's beer. I felt so grown up.

Chester was my favorite

Those half hour episodes of Gunsmoke are so great. One of my all time favorite TV shows along with Twilight Zone, Andy Griffith Show and Columbo.

I watch this every day! Never get tired of it. I always wanted to be Miss Kitty as a young girl. I would love to live in those simple life days. The whole cast was just brilliant! ❤️🎶

Right there at that table alongside a table in the LongBranch made some of the best tv scenes in history.

I'm not 100% certain, but I think it may be season 8, episode 14, called "Uncle Sunday."

The first five to seven years of Gunsmoke are better than the next 15 all put together. I would rather watch one of the half hour episodes than 10 of the one hour.

The writers wanted Chester to have a handicap so he could not compete with Matt. They asked Dennis Weaver who chose to have a problem with his leg. He later said it was a very difficult act, and had he known he would have chosen something else.

Those old Scudders sure can’t sing.Festus really could though.
