Chest and Throat Opener

This vinyasa flow focuses on opening the chest (heart space) and throat. Put your attention on your Ujjayi breath as a way to keep your body warm and malleable as you create an opening on the front side of the body and strengthen the back side of the body ( many of the poses are backbends, please honor your body).
On the emotional side, we go through many things in life that offer an array of emotional hurts. We start to close off the area surrounding the heart (the chest cavity) as a way to protect ourselves - slowly tightening the body and cutting off our prana (energy force), leaving us feeling anger and resentment.
The throat area feels the impact when the chest closes as it physically draws the chin toward the chest closing off the area that represents your true voice.
How you feel and what you say matters. Remember to ease into the poses and use your breath to dissolve the tension that is closing you off. With practice, you break through the cracks and let the light in.
