I love that Sam couldn't help himself inserting coaster knowledge when you guys were getting on Vampire. I'm loving these vlogs. I've been smiling through through of them. You guys are awesome.

A clear sunny day in England - it DOES happen

So glad you got to show Chessington to us Americans. I went there about 5 years ago and loved it.

They really went all out on vampire. The new drop ride looks like a really long line for the style of ride. I'm glad it was sunny

Have you seen the croc drop that was crazy.

This theme park is awesome. It’s got so many different things to do. The hotel looked cool too.

For Halloween, Vampire, Tomb Blaster and Rattlesnake had live actors in the queues and it really took the themeing on both rides to the next level!

Chessington is definitely my favourite merlin park. The theming and atmosphere is unmatched in my opinion.

Vampires so good

We used to hear the lions roar it was so strange you could hear it through your body incredible happy memories 😆😆😆

The queue for Vampire looked amazing! I want to live in there! 🧛‍♂️

It used to be so much better! The station is so much brighter. Merlin don't really give the TLC the parks deserve and our winters do make things look grubby fast.

Love the giraffe room at the end

Loved this vlog. We’ve never been before and are going during the summer so this vlog gave us all the feels thanks for sharing x

The grufallo ride looks cool.

The imperial leather soap overlay of professor burps was such a huge insult to an amazing dark water ride. At least the Gruffalo does it some justice

UK Theme parks are by default better at creepy theming than US ones

Why do you think that? I do know that European tastes are darker and Disney deliberately make rides a bit darker for us. I think we do creepy better the USA do Halloween well but it tends to be brash and jump scares rather than buildup?

@@Keith-wd5ey One factor is that a lot of UK theme parks are redevelopments of older properties - Alton Towers is obvious, Chessington's history is similar - the Manor house opened as a zoo, then added some attractions, grew into a theme park. So there's a lot of old, old stuff lying around, a lot of making do with odd shaped parcels of land which makes for interesting, creepy corners. Also "creepy" theming is very popular with Merlin because you can just set it up and it needs no maintenance - the more it breaks down the more themed it is! Cheap!

Hi Jackie.. cool vlog the Gruffalo is quite a famous kids story over here with a Rol Darl kind of vibe to it and there is also a pro touring theatre show version (which I have worked on several times over the years) with music and catchy tunes too.. it’s a thing 👍🏼🙂

Aww my kids LOVE Room on the Broom! And the Gruffalo ride was so cool! Really unique rides 👍🏻

What a beautifully themed park. Lots of details in the queues. Enjoyed seeing some of my kiddos fav books incorporated into rides. Thanks as always Jackie!

That organ player animatronic went through a massive overhaul about a year ago. It was just bad as it squeaked and was so jerky before. Now it has a new look and it works.

Followed Sam for years, don't know why it's taken me this long to watch your videos! The Vampire was the first coaster I ever went on, back in the mid 90's, absolutely adore that ride!!!

My children would love to meet the witch from Room on the Broom. What a great book!!!

I thought everyone knew what a Gruffalo was 😄lol. Just kidding. I love those books and the animation movies from it too. There's a Gruffalo Child too. I have them and enjoy. What a cool vibe that park has!

What a cool and fun park! The rides looked like so much fun. Great day for the park.

Vampire is my number one ride on the park, I visited for the first time at the weekend and the theming is absolutely incredible. The actual layout of the coaster is amazing too!

The vampire playing organ in the ride station, is an old wax work from Madame Tussaud’s of Phil Collins. This was used as Tussauds used to own a lot of the theme parks in the uk until Merlin took over. The whole area where the vampire ride is, was designed by a man called John Wardley, he is responsible from some of the best rides and attractions in the uk, and he is also such a nice guy. Look him up, it is really interesting to watch the videos he has made and been in.

Love chessington park used to go there as a kid

Never heard of this park. It’s really neat. Vampire theming is so cool! I liked the Zufari ride. Thanks for sharing this place!

Must watch Room on the Broom on Netflix. One of our favs along with Gruffalo and Gruffalo's Child, Stick Man, and Snail 🐌 on a Whale 🐋!

Chessington is one on my favourite UK theme parks. The they don't have as many thrill rides as Alton towers or Thorpe park but the theming is more consistent and the park just feels nicer to be in. Great vid Jackie 👍

Great to have you over here Jackie, we were supposed to be flying to Orlando last year and this year but couldn't because of the pandemic. We're going next year instead now and this year going to Blackpool. Not quite the same vibe but he ho, glad to see that at least you two can see each other again

It's crazy how they are allowed to holiday here but we can't go there. It's so backwards.

Try and go again this year as the new jumanji area opens this year with a reverse shuttle wing coaster. With a zero g roll.
