Somewhere on KZread there’s a chess game where kind of the same thing happened, the rook and promoted queen were looking like they would ladder mate, but a bishop was able to block, the queen couldn’t capture the bishop without the king recapturing, and moving that bishop also had I think a discovery check on the other king, leading to victory for the first king; a crazy rare uno reverse card
