Don’t sweat it bro. I lost nearly 100 elo when I made the switch from d4 to e4. Takes time to get comfortable in the new positions. Btw, I think you’ll love the Catalan. It’s what I used to play, and it’s still my favorite opening. A lot of theory but the good thing is most of your opponents won’t know it.

Couldn’t agree more with what you said at the end there. I’ve said often I’m “okay” with losing games where I get blown off the board. Like it’s just clear my opponent is better or better prepared or whatever it is. I take it as a learning experience and try again. Losing Elo isn’t that big of a deal. Games where I’m winning the entire time but cannot convert make me want to throw my laptop out the window. It’s so disheartening. We keep moving forward until we reach our goals 💪

In game one at 13:40, what was your rationale for not just taking the knight with your rook? Even if the queen delivers another check, you can just block with your knight and he doesn’t have time to capture another piece because you’re threatening mate.

Chess is mental MMA. Dominate. Dominate. Dominate. Drop your guard, get choked out. Nice to end on a win, but you should probably try to stick with the 2 loss rule. Win or lose, we're cheering for you.

Idk, for me 2 losses in a row seems like a super small number to tilt from, sometimes i can lose 6 games in a row without thinking about it too much

Wow dude, five games and so much fun. Your nervous system is overloaded. too much stress for some reason. And the first thing you should do is think about how to start being less nervous. I went through a dozen panic attacks once and one of the tings that helped me was respiratory gymnastics. Just as example. But most importantly, you have to figure yourself out and look for a way until you find it. Take the time to do this and ask for help if you need it. This is not a joke and more important than chess. You are still young enough to fix it. Sorry for putting it here but my empathy is pretty high and i am an outspoken person.

Can’t help but notice the only game you spent any decent amount of time analysing was the only one you won and not the previous four you lost.
