Considering all the educational chess channels I watch, I want to say this is an unusually good, clear, well-written video. Basic concepts and tips that will actually help people and are easy to understand. Very well done.

Go to Anna Cremling's channel of you want to actually learn about chess on not just watch pretty girls play chess. She does the best just of any KZread channel. She is kind of cute too even if her voice can be a bit much.

@@toriless I find your comment rude and disrespectful. Also presumptuous about a person you don't know. What they look like has nothing to do with the quality of content, or why I'm here. This is not primarily an educational chess channel, so of course I wouldn't come here specifically to learn about chess. But as an educator, writer and video creator myself, this is a good educational video all the same. I'm qualified to say so. If I wanted to learn about Chess on YT, I'd go to one of the four educationally-focused chess channels I'm already subscribed to, irrespective of whatever the presenter looks like.

Well said, Alex! One thing I'll add to the opposition section: if you're up a pawn, THINK before pushing the pawn! Because with one move, the opponent can take back the opposition. In general, if you can make a move that forces the two kings to be one rank apart, do it. And don't push the pawn until you know you have the opposition and can keep it :)

I would love to see you go into depth on some of your more interesting endgames. As a long time wood pusher, I do ok in the opening, at my best in the middlegame, but my mind just blanks in the endgame. I just have the hardest time seeing why one move is good an another not. I expect I'm not alone in that regard. I really just love your presentation; your really a good coach Alex, would love to see more.

That format is great - and a very digestible length as well. Nothing against Danja, but like 10 1 hour videos just on pawn endgames imho target a very advanced and thus narrow viewership. This is more to the point even for ppl who already learned at some point and just want a little refresh on the topic 🤗 Can you do rook endgames next? Like just philidor / lucena position and how to hold / convert them?
