Dyatlov was apparently portrayed wrong in a lot of ways. He was very strict and not likeable in some cases, but remained very professional. In fact, he was one of the first people to say “we need to get out of here” when reactor 4 exploded. There was doubt initially, but it changed fast.
@cpthrki5852
4 жыл бұрын
Too bad it's totally wrong. According to Stolyarchuk and Dyatlov, the atmosphere in the control room was not only perfectly calm up until the explosion itself, but there were no indicators whatsoever that anything was out of the ordinary. AZ-5 was not pressed because of a power surge (there was no sudden rise in power before AZ-5 was pressed), but as a planned procedure because the reactor was to be shut down after the turbine test for maintenance.

Dont know but it was because the control rods are made out of boron which stops the reaction but the tips are made out of graphite which makes the reaction stronger I dont really know the rbmk1000 reactors but they have graphite tips on the rods
@haneenasad
2 жыл бұрын
You're right. In real life, the power was FAR more higher than 58 or even 1000 mw. That's just what was the starting point for the disaster. I might be wrong, but from what I read and know all around, is that it first fell way too low and then suddenly started exceeding even 3,200 MW's. Absolutely crazy
@yourbigfan1777
7 ай бұрын
At that point the reactor was doomed to explode. Shutting the reactor down waaay earlier (before making the decision to start the test) is what could be the solution, but sir Dyatlov has completely ignored the fact that the core was severely poisoned by xenon, so instead he withdrawed almost all of the control rods to compensate the thermal power loss, thus he lost any control over the core

Dyatlov was apparently portrayed wrong in a lot of ways. He was very strict and not likeable in some cases, but remained very professional. In fact, he was one of the first people to say “we need to get out of here” when reactor 4 exploded. There was doubt initially, but it changed fast.
@cpthrki5852
When you get fired so you lower the water pressure at a radioactive power plant
Note to Self: don’t let chefs get in charge of a nuclear power plant, this might be the thing that happened.

@haneenasad
@yourbigfan1777
