very much an experience
Its with great sadness that I record here the passing of actor Paul Ritter who played Anatoly Dyatlov, in Chernobyl. He died of a brain tumour on 5 April 2021, aged 54, far too soon.
Chernobyl is not a series, its an emotion. If you are someone who is interested in historical events, this is a no brainer, a must watch. Wish I can erase it from my memory and watch it again.

You can still watch it again and get those chills which you got after watching it first time. How horrifying this series is🤯

With respect… I say no. It is the sacred duty for every person of good conscience to remember, and mourn the heros of Chernobyl. Even the people who helped cause the disaster. Because none of them WANTED to destroy the Soviet Union, or the way of life they cherished. Not even those people who actively sort to withhold critical information on the design flaws of the RBMK reactors. They were all the products of their culture. The lesson for all of us, is the normal way of dealing with problems is never foolproof. Maintaining the resilience of your way of life, intrinsically subversive. If you want to be a team player, that is fine, but DO NOT seek to attack or undermine mavericks around you. You NEVER know when your own security will depend on someone refusing to obey conventions. The other lesson of Chernobyl is for the Russians in particular. The difference between a hero and a fool is largely a matter of timing. Reckless disregard for personal safety is not intrinsically heroic. If you must throw your life away, make sure the sacrifice is worth it. The Soviet Union was a first class industrial nation. The first responders, and liquidators did not have to die so horribly, and did not have to work in such terrible conditions. Not nearly enough imagination was put into the emergency response or the clean up.

Agreed. We've watched this amazing series countless times. I still get the same emotions as I did from the first time I watched it.
"You do it because it must be done" that broke me

“No one else but us” I might add
The faces of the men in the control room, as they see their colleague vomiting or when they wait for AZ-5 to shut it down ... absolutely horrified and shocked about what is happening ...
The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him"-G.K Chesterton Even if this is not in the same context as what it should be, we get what it means
Putting this hauntingly beautiful piece of music to a video montage of 1 of the greatest series ever is a stroke of genius. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
lol imagine a single press of a button would cause all of this. The button was... A3-5 Pressed by Aleksandr Fyodorovich Akimov
i love it man the music makes it complete
Well Done. Music choice is superb. Ending with Lagasov's quote - brillant.

@dudicorn6503 so you are the genius behind this genius??? Sir, I applaud you. 👏 👏👏👏👏👏
The firefighters entrance at Chernobyl plant was the best part of this mini series.
You need more credit man, underrated! (O7 to the lost 1986 heros.)
This is a masterpiece.
Great editing
This video is absolutely brilliant!!! Well done my friend.
Perfect timing
Valery Legasov God bless him for his heart
What is very scary is for a few seconds the reactor was inside the fireball when Chernobyl exploded...
hi, I've just made an edit of this show (bc its my favourite one and was inspired by you) and I've just tried to post it on here and it got copyrighted and blocked by sky and I was just wondering how you was able to get your edit on here?

After seeing this documentary I was feared of radiation 😣

No need. In basically any situation, you will not experience a dangerous amount of radiation. Remember that there is always a constant background radiation all around you, and that hasn't hurt you yet.

Experience is what's chipped away from your work, it's gained slowly or in great chunks, but heed in how you break them off, for the bigger the chunk, the bigger the mistake that must be fixed

i'ld rather just watch actual clips from the show, not listen to this stupid sappy music. the music from the show was top notch.
