My mother diagnosed pencreatic cancer in September she is not eating any thing

My husband is 67. Diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer -spread to liver, lung, lymph nodes and maybe bones. Stage 4 they say.

Hello, my husband of 43 years was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the beginning of December 2021 aged 65, he has been through a battery of ultrasounds and CT scans and the conclusion of it all is that he is border line operable, the NHS have scheduled him for a three to four month campaign of chemotherapy using a drug named FOLFIRINOX in the hope of shrinking his tumour away from his portal vein, could anyone tell me how effective the treatment is in shrinking the tumour?

Chemo will kill the patient if he has breahing issues its a very very powerful drug

@@guruprasad7184 Hello I'm still here and still feeling relatively fine, I have completed my first 7 cycles of Folfirinox chemotherapy and I've been having a really rough time of it, after the sixth of the twelve planned cycles I got really bad pains in both my armpits and across my chest I actually thought I was having a heart attack, but after taking an ECG and a Troponin Blood Test revealed that I hadn't suffered a heart attack the problem was my body was having a really bad reaction to one of the chemo drugs named Fluorouracil which is administered from a portable 46 hour pump, the pump was removed from my chemo for my 7th cycle and all was fine, but between the 6th and 7th my oncologist arranged a CT scan for me which shown that the tumour had neither decreased or increased in size and it was still confined to the pancreas she also told me that she didn't think anymore chemo would be as effective without the Fluorouracil but was happy to continue with it if that's what I wanted I opted to stay with the chemo, she also wrote to the Multi Discipline Team at Queens Medical Center where any potential surgery would be carried out, pretty much hours after QMC had got the results of the CT scan I was called in for another CT and a MRI scan and then a 140 mile round trip to QMC Nottingham to have a pre op assessment which went really well, then I get a phone call from my oncologist explaining that the operation was not just a whipple procedure but would also involve re-sectioning of my portal (basically the cancerous bit cut out of the vein and patched with a bit of vein from somewhere else from my body) she told me that QMC didn't perform re-sectioning so I was now being referred to a specialist pancreatic center at Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham UK where this surgery is routinely carried out, all this happened last week and as yet I have not had any contact with Birmingham but my Macmillan cancer support nurse who is dealing with any questions from the Birmingham team is feeling quite optimistic about my prospects of potential surgery, thank you for taking the time to ask about me.👃
