for real the only thing i miss about my teens is how my body didnt hurt for no reason lol but other than that im over the roller coaster.

okay, so I've been seeing a lot of comments saying that none of these films are original anymore. while I do agree that they are not original, I want to say that its incredibly difficult to make a coming of age movie much different from the rest of them. the intention of coming of age movies is being entertaining, but also being relatable to its audience. highschool is a time of discovering yourself, others, and love, and then messing up at it. all of which theres already been movies about. theres not rlly anything that can happen other than repeating a lot of themes.

That's not true at all though. This is the equivalent of me saying "it's incredibly difficult to make a space movie much different from the rest of them." Space is vast and limitless. Alien is different from Star Wars is different from Star Trek is different from Gravity and on and on. Coming of age is a massive genre. Jane Eyre is coming of age. Harry Potter is coming of age. Perks of Being a Wallflower and Love, Simon and The Fault in Our Stars are all coming of age, but I'd never argue those movies are unoriginal even though they're all about high schoolers falling in love, messing up, and discovering something more about themselves. Perks - coming of age will recovering from trauma. Love, Simon - coming of age while coming to terms with your sexuality. FiOS - coming of age while living with cancer. Originality comes from putting your own unique perspective and spin on a universal story. This movie seems unoriginal because it's not showing us teenagers falling in love and messing up in a way we've never seen it done before. Right now, this movie just looks like a bucket full of cliches. I hope to be proved wrong because I really like Austin Abrams and Lili, but this trailer just isn't it.

Even in a trash bag with flies all over her can’t make lili look “bad”.

This hits home for me having a disability and struggling with trying to recover mentally and physically is that hardest most depressing shit and seeing it in a person and seeing someone else exact pain makes me feel like I’m not alone.

Maddison Fogarty based on the book with out spoiling to much I think they did a good job casting. There is many twists to the story and i think that their decision to cast someone without a disability was done for a reason especially since it goes with the story

I’m 21 and I do like some teen movies and there are others that I hate. For example I enjoyed to all the boys I’ve loved before, but I absolutely hated the kissing booth, it was so cringeworthy, from the script to the plot to the extremely unnecessary drama, it was so much that I haven’t even watched the second one because I was cringing throughout the whole first movie and I’m not gonna put myself through that again 😂

Not every teenager falls in love with a new person at their school, There are other types of pain than petty high school relationships set in suburbian America. It'd be nice to finally see a movie that is set somewhere actually unique and has actual interesting characters. Most teenagers experience things like family troubles and other dynamics, these types of movies are so overdone it's boring. One character has something which makes them edgy yet they're still your basic white American teenager who finds someone who is slightly quirky and then one of them says something dumb which is the height of the movie and then it gets resolved.

Madhatter it seems cliche at first but if you actually read the book you understand that it’s not like other stories.

Read this book a year and a half ago, so excited because this literally looks like the pictures are coming to life right out of my head! It’s spot on. And it gives me Paper Town vibes which I love, haven’t had that feeling about a movie or show for years.

Marc from This is Us was actually likable in Euphoria. Let's see what he's like in this movie.

One thing I like about Henry and Grace already is what they have in common they both have trouble with words.

It's difficult to get actual teen actors because there's a different working law for child/teen actors. They cannot work the same long hours that adult actors often have to do when filming for a tv show or movie. Teen actors also might have restrictions as to what they can do on camera. So, this is why you so many adult actors casted as teens.

I don’t get it? Why makes this teen drama any different than the others that have come out in the last 15 years? Person A: sorta dead inside. Person B: has a dark past. One or both have difficult home lives. Everything changes when they meet. Person A finds a purpose and learns to enjoy life. Person B comes into terms with their dark past and finds solace in Person A. Movies end with a hint of uncertainty of the longevity of their teen romance but have learned to enjoy things as they are. The End. It’s a formula that’s kinda tried and true (50/50 chance it’s horrible), but it needs to be revamped. Seriously.

This looks like a really sweet movie, if you don’t like it click on another video and don’t watch the movie. Stop spreading negativity, to criticise it before even watching the whole movie is ridiculous.

I really this movie doesn’t deviate to much from the books storyline because they’re was an incredible amount of depth to the book and I feel like they could shy away from the cliches and explore it just as well with this movie, the trailer already looks great very excited for the movie 🍿

When you actually watch the movie, you realize the trailer isn’t what it seems... the movie is based on a really good book with the same name... so don’t go judging a movie by its trailer ... and being young usually is really hard, and everyone goes through something different, whether extreme or not to you, it’s extreme for the person experiencing it.
