Glenn is one of the greatest pundits, and it should never be forgotten what he did for Chelsea. He convinced Ruud Gullit to sign, and this changed the club's trajectory forever.

Scholes nailed it when he said "walking off those players would have been happy" But Cristiano wasn't happy, he is a winner, drawing a game and playing like that is not a good result.

He was unhappy because he didn't start or score. Also, gilt edged chance late in the game and Fred tries to chip the keeper instead of pass to one of the best players of all time. Look at how Liverpool play, when the result is in the balance, the midfields feed the forwards, particularly Salah and Mane, even if they waste the chance. Because over time, that is the most effective choice to make. Fred trying to score says it all. Man Utd are a team of individuals and they can't even recognise the best way to score a goal when it matters - which is to give it to the best goalscorer.

The question is why Harry 'slabhead' maguire is captain in man utd. you have cavani, Ronaldo, van de beek, etc. who are way more capable and good players to fill that position. Team needs a leader in the locker room who can lead and support his players.

Carrick is part of the problem at United. He said they played well and were disappointed with the result. He said they have been pressing, seriously?. Seriously?! Utd have at best, AT BEST the fourth best squad and the fourth best team in the league, and arguably teams like Arsenal are coming up on the rails with good young players that could potentially beat you both on Thursday and to a Champions League spot (could). You’ve got a decent but streaky keeper, one good centre-back, just arrived, a “leader” who is both very average and a complete plank, a right back who provides no attacking momentum or quality and not much positional reliability, a classy left back bang out of form, three incredibly average (holding) midfielders all of which would struggle to get in another top 10 side (and McT is 25 in less than two weeks, he’s not a “good young player” he’s just very, very average) , a new £80,000,000 signing that you barely play, your best player that has been so overplayed since he arrived that he is (predictably) a shadow of himself and will continue to be until he gets a summer off to rest, a flat-track bully inside left (but he’s at least home-grown and has a social conscience - personally I’ve got a lot of time for him) and an elite goal score who will offer virtually nothing without the ball but will score plenty (wasn’t enough for Juve either), oh and he won’t be around for long enough to see the fruition of any coaching project). Add to that another ageing striker who’s injured 50% of the time “he loves a niggle”, a good young player who’s role through the middle is blocked by Ronaldo and Cavani, a walking reason why the Super League could not have been allowed to run football of a signing, two reserve centre backs who have failed at Utd, a backup left back who is basically an average winger, and of course a decent young keeper currently wasting his career on the bench whilst players of similar ability like Ramsdale get the headlines, experience and currently the caps. Who are these “world class” players?! Maybe 4, all of which would barely meet most definitions (of course one of them is nearly retired and isn’t going to have any truck with a RR or MP press, one is knackered and subsequently a bit crap at the moment, one has barely played for the club and certainly not helped Utd be anything other than worryingly appalling defensively when he has, and the other one has also been pretty awful this season, culminating in being downright embarrassing against City and Watford).

Man Utd have two world class players: Bruno Fernandes and Ronaldo, who is winding down. De Gea is decent but not top drawer. Varane is ok but has never really been tested to see his true level. After that, the rest of the team is flawed, ineffective, or simply bang average. If a coach came in and tried to compete with Man City long term, the only player who's still in this team is Bruno and possibly Wan BIssaka because he can be a defensive rock, although he's not producing atm. Every other player would be out of the team.

They need a proper CB. Maguire, Lindelof just doesn’t cut it. All the top teams have really really good CB, that is why they only play with one CDM and their CDM are worldclass who would cover for their centre backs. Chelsea with Thiago, Rudiger, Kante. Bayern with Lucas & Sule, Goretzka and Kimmich. City with Stones Dias Laporte and Fernandinho. Liverpool with Matip VVD Fabinho. And then you have United, Maguire, Lindelof and Mcfred. How would you expect to play your best offensive players when they’re not secured at the back? One mistake and loss of possession and you’re exposed which would lead to a goal. United have never had problems going infront, they will never have problems scoring goals, it is their defense that is the issue.

Jorginho is not looking to the keeper, like you said. Keepers usually decide and move before the ball is kicked. The way he is looking he will be able to see before he kicks where the keeper will jump. At the same time all his body language is telling the keeper that he is going to kick to the right.. Then at last second he shoots to the left when he already saw that the keeper jumped to the right. He just have to make sure he doesn't miss the target.

A team of individuals surviving game by game. Carrick and his comments speak volumes....1 game improvement brings out ridiculous thinking..."proud of the players" ! For doing what they are overpaid to do, what an achievement. As CR7 storms off the field once again, like the little boy he is. his attitude is the vision of a team where a 37 year old EGO, is not getting his toy, and others are hanging on in the hope of avoiding another affront. Ferguson and his back room interference goes on, with no resulting improvements, while this club remains living in the past. For years they have been going to get rid of players...Sunday...Jones on the sidelines...STILL there.

Mark my word he wont be even on field like today and warming bench under new manager. Cr7 could be having tough time bse some coaches like Rangnick could drop him to say hes the boss and things could fall off the cliff!! I really worry about it! It was the midfield and defence the issue from Mourinho time and still it is. You can have Messi or CR7 unless you dont get service you are nothing. C R7 and Messi had to thank the Benzemas, Marcelos, Xavis or Iniestas for what they achieved no doubt!!

It's a simple equation, Man Utd never should've given Ole a permanent contract on the back of an impressive interim spell considering he never had the credentials to be manager at the highest level. Now it's time to rebuild again, and this time it has to be with a relevant, top level manager (no managers available at Klopp, Pep, Tuchel, Conte level) such as Poch or Ten Hag or another manager who is on the cusp of breaking into that top echelon similar to what Nagelsmann is doing at Bayern.
