That usually happens with injuries but usually the body adapts quite well and you can gain it back rather quickly if you've already been there. He should be fine for the start of the season.

He's been progressively losing weight, and his injury record started to get worse after he started losing weight. Maybe his body did not adapt to the change. Hopefully there is a method to this madness.

I don’t think it’s Nike per se (they’ve done some great kits for other clubs), but whoever it is that selects the designs at the club. Terrible taste.

Leicester in the championship and player selection is vastly different to expectations at Chelsea. Wage bill, top 4, Europa Conference, Club World Cup, plus a lot of high quality team players. So leave the guesswork until pre-season at best. Where fringe players get evaluated abd best youth players are showcased. We still don't know who are sold/loaned/traded before season starts. But if healthy and fit we can expect a squad comprising: Sanchez, Petrovic, Bergström, Slonina, Bettinelli, ? James, Gusto, Disasi, WFofana, Adarabioyo, Colwill, Badiashile, Cucurella, Chilwell, Veiga, Chalobah, Gilchrist Ogochuku, Lavia, Gallagher, Fernández, Caicedo, Dewsbury-Hall, Casadei, ASantos Madeuke, Gallagher, Kellyman, Chukwuemeka, Sterling, Madueke, Nkunku Jackson, Guiu, Washington, DFofana, Moreira, Ãngelo, Alex Matos, ? That's 39 players not counting: Lukaku, Kepa, Sarr. Maresca to select: best 11, best 18, best 22 - 26.

24/25 FIFA loan rules: 6 players in/out. Exception for players younger than 21 yrs or "club trained" - spent 3 seasins at current club between the ages of 15 to 21 yrs. Each loan is 1 yr long. No restriction on the number of 1 yr loans. Cannot loan more than 3 players to the same club. In the PL, a club cannot register more than 2 players on loan at any one time, e.g. summer transfer 2 players, January transfer 2 players for a maximum of 4 per season i.e. 24/25. PL summer transfer market ends August 30 @ 11 pm UK time, about 2 mths. to get squad trimmed. So Chelsea will loan 6. Then have to sell. PL squad size is 25 players of which 8 must be home grown. U21 players are eligible for furst team selection and do not count in the 25.

I think Veiga signing is not with the sole intention of inverting him into midfield. With Veiga at LB and James at RB, we'll have two fullbacks, who can play RCB/LCB in a back three, both can invert, and both can play conventional fullback. With Cucurella, he's also done all three but his physique is an issue in a back three and slight issue at DM. So, either can invert, and the other can comfortably complete the rest of the back three, and we will not have any defensive weakness in any area. And that also gives Maresca the tactical flexibility to shake things around midgame without necessarily having to make a substitution.

I’m pretty sure the idea behind long contracts is that you promise the player security in terms of money; and the club secures the investment as players tend to get more expensive with time and experience… as 27 is usually considered peak, therefore best time to sell.

I'm on holiday in Corfu for 2 weeks and all my adds are in Greek not good, let's see what happens in pre season and how the new system goes

the kit is better than most we've had in the last 10years. we always seem to have better away kits. it's personal choice in the end.

Although Maresca will be wedded to his system I think we can expect to see some games with the LB (likely Cucurella) inverting into mid with the RB being more conventional and games where it's the RB inverting

I think he may be tailoring the tactics to the team. LB into CB, Enzo and Caicedo to sit and Reece/Malo as the wide player. We also have a couple of RW who want to cut inside, so the overlap makes sense on that side? Still leaves 5 behind the ball

Hasn't Maresca made clear that he will not move from his tactics. I do expect minimal changes or game-by-game instructions but largely he'll do the same as he did at Leicester. And at Leicester he already had the LB form a back 3 and the RW cut inside. RB as the wide player would be too much of a change and not necessary either. Gusto, if anything, has shown that he can defend. If he's not one to invert then I'm sure he could find a place at RW. Reece will have no problem inverting. Cucu can easily make a back 3 or play RB and then invert from there. Colwill or Veiga at LB into CB is also an opion I'd be comfortable with. I don't see why Maresca would change his tactics up. He said he won't and judging by our player material he also clearly doesn't have to.

@@SirEEf13 At Leicester the LB went into CB and the RB became a CM in possession. I’m saying the LB would still invert to CB, but rather than the RB dropping into CM and one of the midfielders progressing to make the offensive 5, both midfielders sit and the RB progresses. Caicedo can sit or push, so I think it will be a situation of either/or in game making the move. The idea that neither Reece nor Malo will get to the byline and put in any crosses is mad to me, they’re both so good at it.

@@chrisrowe5394 I know what you are saying and I get that loosing their crosses could be detrimental to us but I don't see Maresca changing his system. Maybe Gusto and Reece start on the right 8 and then move wide from there and instead Caicedo or Trev are the new RBs but we'll just have to live with the FBs not providing attacking threat in the wide areas.

Hopefully this will be the last time we hear you butcher Omorodion’s name. We have to stop this chase for this mid player.

I am no Gallagher fan but to say I'd rather see Gallagher go to Villa over Spurs is "silly".
