People can’t choose being what they are, they just are. We’re just more common, being in alignment in brain and body and gender, we’re accepted, but we didn’t choose to be us, either. It must be difficult and upsetting, she tried to hide it since childhood. Many people forced to hide it forever, or not accepted by family or friends, end up taking their own lives, often. We need to concentrate on her achievements and less on her private personal journey to herself. I think she’s a brilliant brave and interesting person, and will definitely get her book.

No, I’m just a person (my several businesses are in the arts and creative industry, very far from ‘the feds’) who accepts that trans people exist and I was seeing that people were adding to commentary on that, instead of just sticking to the main political topic. So me pointing out that trans people are just people trying to exist in a transphobic world, and how that would have made her life harder… makes me sound like ‘the feds’? Not seeing the connection there, but whatever.

Chelsea helped to show us how people were being killed illegally in Iraq. To remember the humanity of people across the world that we all share. Chelsea is a hero to me for overcoming barbaric prison conditions and having the courage to change her name to Chelsea in a sometimes hostile world. 🎉

There was no "best of humanity" with US war crimes; the people on the ground were not much better, in the video footage it can clearly be seen an armoured vehicle running over a dead or dying person after the helicopter gunship mowed them down, also the people on ground didn't have much respect for the innocent people their colleagues murdered, they did the absolute bare minimum in providing medical assistance as mandated by Geneva convention. I don't understand why Manning doesn't want to openly support Assange, all he did was publish her information and now he is facing nearly 5 times longer sentence than Manning in a supermax prison.

With all due respect, would you be willing to go volunteer for an indeterminate period in jail if subpoenaed to testify before a grand jury (or for some comparable act of civil disobedience)? Manning quite literally did just that from 2019-20 to avoid complicity in Assange's prosecution, even after everything else Manning had already endured from the first arrest in 2010 to receiving the sentence commutation in 2017. For whatever arguably unnecessary interpersonal fissures have developed between Manning and other members of the pro-transparency community (e.g., the falling-out with Glenn Greenwald over "culture war" concerns), in particular any of the ways that Manning has been minorly critical of Assange and WikiLeaks in "Readme.txt" or elsewhere, it is hard to argue that Manning has been unwilling to stand on behalf of principles in ways that most of us never do. Manning seems similar to several other whistleblowers in that respect (who are often prickly personalities still driven to do the right thing).

The world needs more courageous whistleblowers who care about humanity! Anytime that video footage is aired, please play the entire video footage. The laughter and glee of the US soldiers near the end as they killed human life was appalling and repulsive. They shamed the American people, the US government, and the US military worldwide. The US should have been accountable for their flawed soldiers and their callous disregard for human life. Instead, the US bullied to conceal what our soldiers had done and punished all whistleblowers involved in exposing US military soldiers' killing of innocent lives and their laughing and cheering about it. The American soldiers' cavalier indifference to killing innocents reveals a lack of humanity and a cruel disregard for life. Why is the US military training and employing soldiers to have a disrespect for life and a lack of basic human decency? Our tax dollars should not support creating heartless monsters. Now I understand why so many young men and women return home with PTSD and suicidal ideation. That video revealed that they have been trained to become heartless, to develop a callous disregard for life, and to cover up and condone war crimes and their wrongful murder of innocent life. That training and activity damages one's soul. Our soldiers and the millions of innocents around the world are paying a horrible price for such training and military aggression.

I agree with most of what you said, Ma'am. I would like to like to say that our team all served in combat, multiple deployments and many of us have PTSD and other issues from our time in service. We have NEVER come across soldiers or their command/leadership who would EVER condone such inhumanity or allow it to go unpunished. When the monsters are produced they don't think about the unbearable and burdensome price they eventually pay, but they do and some eventually pay with the ultimate price. Shame that in most of the cases their parents and loved ones don't get involved to dissuade them from going to become monsters, and realise when it is too late that their loved one's mind has been replaced with a zombie-bot brainwashed to do wrong... I persuaded one to not get involved in the murky nonsense, and I am happy that that one is thriving happily with the family that one created. I am happy that I did that.

Prior to being arrested, Manning told Adrian Lamo that they did it to cause chaos. Diplomacy is humankind's main best means of settling international disputes without war. Manning attacked diplomacy and thus should be seen as a vandal and a criminal, not a hero.

'A woman is anyone who identifies as one' is not a definition, and every word needs one of those. 'Female adult human' makes much more sense and is grounded in objectivity.

I also wondered how the Nazi got started. Since Nuremburg it has been a crime to commit a war crime. Here we have a person who challenged this. I do not think she was correct in realising all the files. But to read some of the replies on here. I now know how the Nazi got started - the same arguments being used against trans people here were used against the Jewish and Gypsy population. What happens if it your child is Trans - think about that before you condemn others.
