I'm Muslim and I don't celebrate Christmas but I have to say, this was my favourite episode of chefs try of buzzfeed oz. Everyone was so polite and every dish looked so festive and happy. The vibes were just lovelyyy of this episode. Cannot wait to see more of these 4 chefs together!! ❤️

I don't celebrate it but I'm not gonna deny, the colours and the aesthetics will always be so pretty to me! And my neighbours make some delicious bakes around that time! Last year they gave me a mini gingerbread house the size of my hand that was decorated like a cute little cottage and it was DELISH! It was soft, chewy and had warming flavours and decorated with piped marshmallow as well as some candies. Even if I don't celebrate it, my neighbourhood becomes much more inviting and the season is so beautiful!

I love to see these videos where chefs who can actually cook enjoy each other's food. They're eating roasts, not roasting each other. 😄❤
I love the Chefs Try series! Each dish is unique and gorgeous. Each chef puts their own spin, culture, flavor, and love into them. This deserves it's own youtube award for wholesome and delicious! ✨️😋
Dancing around before saying "mm" feels so much more authentic than some of the reactions I've seen 😂 I trust her implicitly
These all looked absolutely incredible…like I want every one of them…but I have to say I am consistently impressed with Ryan. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him make a dish that doesn’t get a near perfect score. Buzzfeed Australia is always bringing awesome content.

Anyone else just sat here thinking.... Where the fuck is the god damn gravy? 😂
i love how different and personal each Christmas roast is!
Who else is surprised that the salmon lettuce wrap won best Christmas roast?
The recipes that this segment of Buzzfeed Oz always brings to the table are just….I don’t even have the words to describe them! I’m a vegetarian and I have never ever liked meat. Yet these chefs make me want to eat everything that they cook.
I love this series because it looks like SO much fun to be apart of. You get to spend time planning and cooking something incredible, share it with others, eat what they've prepared which is also incredible, and just talk about it.
I was confused as to why her dish was scored so high since that's a summer themed dish... then I remembered, I'm from the USA, not AUS. It's Summer in AUS during Christmas, not Winter 🤣

In all fairness, for the last dish, those brussels sprouts are like fifty percent butter and beef juice by the time that dish has finished roasting. Damn straight they taste delicious. I don't even like brussels sprouts and I'd eat the shit out of those.

Linda can throw down. Everything I’ve seen from her just looked extremely delicious. Ryan got skills too.
This episode was really interesting. I only ever considered pork or beef for roasts. It was neat seeing other meats used. I also didn’t know you could cook a roast that fast. 🤯
This is the premium league of chefs okay! Happy Holidays everyone!❤️🎄

Aww this was so wholesome, they all enjoyed each others dish and wanted the recipes!

First one could be good but the poultry needs to be salted in advanced to have the flavour penetrate. It was surely bland regardless of everything added 😢 😊

These videos make me want to go to Australia to try the food. The chefs there seems amazing. All the dishes were great, but that duck ... I didn't think I would like it, but it became so appealing by the end. Actually, I just hit Ryan's, his was incredible, too. They all were.
Love this series
Cherry sauce looks amazing!! That said, as an American I will never ever ever get used to the Australian use of the word “homely” lol. Like, I know you mean “this dish feels like a cozy home” but all I hear is “this dish is ugly as f**k” 😂
They look SOOOOO GOOD! I am starving! 🥰

Omg LINDA!! I was rooting for her so hard on Masterchef!! 🤩

Please make more "chef's try" videos. I think I have watched them all, and I keep repeating
These all look sooooo good I wanna try them
Can you imagine having all four on your Christmas table? They all looked so flavorful and beautiful. I want to try everything. Thank you Chefs. Merry Christmas Everyone!🥰
Ryan while that beef is WAY too rare for me I if it were cooked more I would love the recipe. Can you list your recipe for the beetroot jam? It looks incredible and both cherries and beetroot are foods I am trying to eat more in my diet.
Future video idea- Aussies recommending iconic Aussie shows. Maybe one classic show, and one current/recent show, per person.

Argh! Does BF Oz post these recipes anywhere? I must inflict several of these on my family this year! This video will be getting a few more views as I take notes. :P Linda's salmon dish sounds perfect for our table, with Will's a close second behind.

Y'all brought your A game well done 👍👍
Ten-daaaa…..yes🤣🤣🤣
GREAT! Now, I have to rethink the whole turkey thing 🙄🙄
Wow I’m making roast right now and now I’m seeing this lol. Oh I’d totally win 😎
Is this the highest score ever at 29.5? T's the Christmas season indeed.
As a northern hemisphere resident I didn't compute that of course Australia is the country that celebrates Christmas at the Summer Solstice. I was reminded when the salmon dish came out. I wonder if there is a mid-winter (i.e. summer solstice) festival there. It would make sense because the reason our mid-winter holidays exist is to provide cheer and community when days are at their darkest.

Why is the beef tenderloin wrapped with twine if it isn’t cut/stuffed?
@Ora-DR
Жыл бұрын
A whole piece of meat might get a weird shape during the roasting process. The twine keeps the shape of the cut, so the meat roasts evenly all over and the slices come out in a uniform shape.
All I know is all of these look amazing... but that beef tenderloin looks like the best food ever.
2 points just for the capsicum!!
I find Ryan’s aversion to capsicum on a Christmas plate interesting. Isn’t that a summer crop? Why all the winter veggies for a holiday that I’ve been told is often on one of the hottest days of the summer? Is it just based on traditions brought over from England back in the day?
@beckbeck5110
Жыл бұрын
For me the salmon was the most Christmasy Aussie dish. The others all seemed like winter dishes to me. I can't think of anything worse than cooking a roast of Xmas day, too hot for that shit.
@bohemelavie1
Жыл бұрын
A big roast is still a very popular Christmas dish in Australia despite it being summer. In my family we generally have a big christmas dinner at lunch time (with Ham, Pork and Turkey) and then later in the evening will eat a smaller tea/supper of salads, cold meats, prawns or even just grazing foods like cheese platters and dip etc.
@StewNWT
Жыл бұрын
I have to say though I agree with him - it's not necessarily an aversion I just have never in my life had any christmas dish that had peppers in them
I like to switch it up. This year I made a whole ham and a duck. Last year was prime rib. Some years it's turkey and ham. Turkey and ham tend to go on sale at Christmas some times prime rib does too.
