This was such a great cartoon series growing up. What I loved about it was there was an actual storyline and it acknowledged that children had brains and appreciated thought provoking storylines and not some cat and mouse running around type of show.

Cheetah didn't think that one through. She now has Wonder Woman's lasso, bracelets, and tiara. She could have used them.

"But they do exist, Luthor!" "Shit. Good point. Nevermind."

I love how none of the Amazons wanted to know who the new blonde on the island was lmao !!!

@@jegoy68 for real though, IRL that style of mask will usually not fool someone who knows you. :p They did have the implication the Amazons were numerous enough that they didn't necessarily have the ability to recognize every other Amazon on sight.

Its funny how they show a video of WW lifting a tree from it's roots as a kid, but never show her strength in the overall show. But these will always be classics to me.

gplus46 Actually, they do show her superstrength in show, but it's very inconsistent, and most of the time she using her magic lasso a as tool to demonstrate it. Like in the episode "Dr. Droid" and she uses her magic lasso to pull a huge bolder down off a cliff and block their get away car. Or in the episode "When world's collide" and she uses her magic lasso to hold back a rocketship from taking off. And the episode "Time Creatures" where she lassos a spaceship goin full throttle and simply pulls it backwards with no effort and slings it behind her invisible jet into deep space. I could go on, but you get the point. She has only demonstrated superstrength without her lasso, but again...the times of her using her strength with or without the lasso are soooo spaced out throughout the series...its hard to remember her ever using it.

Both great points! They never showed the hand to hand strength but her strength was demonstrated via her lasso. Like the intro where she’s handcuffed the purple dragon or welp.

She was better in the 1985-86 season. Wonder Woman actually had powers and she did not do rope tricks. In the Maid of Honor episode of Justice League, Wonder Woman uses an oak tree as a weapon!

"Oh, didn't I mention our HQ is a time machine? No? Also in the basement has a machine that produces infinite corndogs...check it out sometime, they're really good!"

BEST episode ever. Loved it as a kid

Actually, this sounds like a neat plot. Arch-nemesis go back in time and prevent their hero-foes from existing. Much more interesting than seeing them settle things up in a fist fight.

Yeah, people give it a lot of flack, but Super Friends had some really good episodes with some really cool plots. My personal favorite is the Episode where some visiting aliens find that all life on Earth had been completely wiped out due to a combination of the Legion of Doom's plans going horribly wrong and the heroes' attempts to stop it making the situation worse. It was really haunting.

Why didn't Cheetah keep the Lasso of Truth or Wonder Woman's Tiara? The Legion of Doom would have more of an advantage over the Super Fiends with Wonder Woman and Green Lantern's weapons.

May have wanted to fire up that Hall of Doom Time Conveyor more often.

Hard to believe all of the contestants did not know who the new blond was, or why one (and only one) of their ranks was wearing a mask. LOL

You have to wonder how Cheetah was so easily able to compete in the Games. Amazon Island could not have had that huge a population of Amazons. When Cheetah won, wouldn't at least some Amazon in that arena, most probably the Queen, asked her, "Where the hell did you come from? I've never seen you before!" And thus known she was a fraud.

It's seemingly implied that there were enough Amazons that no one Amazon knew the entire population. But... the process of joining the competition? Seems less likely you could fake an identity to join. But apparently, she did. Maybe they just didn't have formal signups? I mean if everyone in the audience is considered a valid entrant, then formal admission isn't really a big deal.

Yeah that's a thing to remember. "Secret island hidden from the outside world" joining a tournament there is very exclusive, just by the nature of the location.

@@Flyboy1953 Enh... SF Giganta didn't seem to become dumb when getting huge. Of course, I do have to wonder how/when Cheetah and Giganta went there in THIS timeline though. We can't assume everything from the 60s and 70s comics actually happened, but it's reasonable to use it to fill in missing back story.

So the goddess Aphrodite was concerned about the Nazis. I did not know that.

Did you SEE the size of that stadium? There's a lot of Amazons. Not everyone knows who everyone is.

There were many parts of this cartoon series that were very dark.

LOL! Cheetahs sounds like she smokes a lot of Virginia Slims!Also, if they succeeded in eliminating Superman, wouldn't that also eliminate Bizarro as well?

Old-school comics had the Amazons as being a super-tech race. Which may seem odd given the Greco-Roman theme, but it's what it was.

I find the comments here and in every other Superfriends videos funny and a bit odd. Peeps, This was a cartoon series intended for kids not older than 8 years old. I am not saying kids were dumber back in the days but these cartoons were merely made to entertain and teach a little 'good' in every kids' minds. Dont be so harsh of critics of the storyline and script, gee this was like Bugs Bunny with superpowers!

No, she was BORN in 1941. But in this continuity she never fought in WW2. The immortality thing is a VERY recent addition.

3.38 and Dianna stands proud as the final contest begins. The stun ray vs bracelet event. But by 4.11 Cheetah has knocked her out and Dianna's defeat is total. KO'd in her miniskirt in center arena. Nice one WW.

I wonder if the Legion of Doom would have considered the other woman member, Giganta, to go to Paradise Island instead and compete in the tournament.

If they have a time-machine, why not just conquer the world centuries before any of the JLAers exist? They could easily advance the tech of the world if they don't like ruling primitives.

Bobo Boy No, the plot was really awful too. The whole thing was a broken, disjointed mess. On the plus side, until the release of Justice League it was the funniest movie ever made.

Hello there, is anyone on KZread because I’ve watched the original wonder woman TV series when it was on television for only three seasons because the first two hour pilot did featured a young actress name Kathy Lee Crosby who played the first wonder woman in training because she had blonde hair at the time and then that’s when Linda Carter had taken that role as the second wonder woman because this one had brunette hair.

I is there anyone reading these comments out there on KZread because I remembered the scene which featured the origin of wonder woman because what happened the legion of doom used a time traveler device in their facility to travel back to the year 1941 during the era when America declared war on Japan and Germany and this is when Diana Paradise Born of the gods and raised to become wonder woman for the United States but what happened a strange female better known as the cheetah without her costume enter the games and would happen Diana lost the tournament and cheetah became known as the wonder woman for the United States but that costume was later brought back to the hall of doom and so they will be no wonder woman in the future ha ha ha ha.

I agree! It is irritating.

According to "John Titor", time traveling is not accurate. The divergence increases with distance. You will inevitably arrive in an alternate time line. It will not be in the same dimension that you started from. She could take the prize, and become another Wonder Woman, but Cheetara could return to the present, and find the original WW there again. This is because she had shifted dimensions, and that timeline was not the one she started out from. Besides, minor alterations tend to repair themselves, even in the dimension where she made the changes!
