Whoever it was, it was funny! " Dance Mr Postman. ".
The absolute best one of the series. Hands downs! This one, Mash’s final episode, and the Pinedale Shopping Mall being bombed with live turkeys are the most memorable tv moments of the 80’s.

I love how the Dr is scared when Cliff gets hold of the controller.
Has to be one of the funniest scenes in sitcom history.
My favorite Cliff moment! First time I saw this, I laughed so hard my insides almost came out.
Darn it, I hurt my ribs a couple of days ago, you could have warned me to say how hilarious that would be. You gotta love Cliff.
The best joke was when the old drunk at the bar had it, and said “Dance, mailman!” as he pushed the button

This is toooo funny! If this isn't one of the classic moments in TV history, I don't know what is. And to think that the Taser hadn't even been invented yet.

Electroshock "therapy" had been in use for decades, and psychologists had started using mild electric shock units for treating compulsive behavior, addictions, etc. Other than the extreme portability and hidden placement, this was nothing new. And, BTW, the Taser was developed in the 1970s, and 'Cheers' went on the air in the '80s.

One of my absolute favorite scenes from Cheers. 😅

3:06, what happens when Rebecca walks by, LOL. Sorry, reflexes.
HAHAHAH!!!! Let's see how YOU like it!!" Always loved this episode!!! Cliff and Cheers was the best. It is true. They just don't make sitcoms like Cheers, All in the Family, Three's Company or Family Ties anymore!
I miss Cheers! Was driving through Boston late one evening in a rig and suddenly, "There's Cheers!"
One of the funniest - I have watched this sketch dozens of times. Thanks.
One of the best cast..and show ever created !!! JUst funny and very smartly written. Miss it !!
I DARE any human being on Earth to say that they haven't, at some point in their lives, known someone that they've wished that they could do this to...
Used to unplug my phone at 5:30 to watch Cheers. I'd be on my knees pounding the floor with my fists because I was laughing so hard.
How did the others actors not laugh at this???
When I think of Cheers, I think of Cliff.
Greatest Cheers scene ever!
This is probably the funniest moment from the entire series, but the rest was really funny as well.

One of my favorite scenes in the show.
That's fucking brilliant, I love the way it builds
Cliff is correct about the USPS creed. It was an inscription on the NYC General Post Office Building, quoting Herodotus, describing the courier service of the Persian Empire: "It is said that as many days as there are in the whole journey, so many are the men and horses that stand along the road, each horse and man at the interval of a day’s journey; and these are stayed neither by snow nor rain nor heat nor darkness from accomplishing their appointed course with all speed."
"Sorry, thumb spasm" lmbo
Loved the show and this kind of reminds me of my defibulator. I'm 47 years old and a stroke and cardiac arrest survivor and have a defibulator in my chest so if my heart either stops or slows down it'll shock me which not a good feeling
Almost every bar has a Cliff !
Anyone else binge watching these Cheers clips?
One if not THE most fun scene of all
@Technolojesus This wasn't TV, this was art, Just like All in the Family.
this episode made me laugh but i also felt really bad for cliff

I miss this show. And MASH. Wish they still had these today. Was a lot better than that trash we have now.
The scene actually continues with Cliff misplacing the remote and the old guy at the bar finds it and is zapping him. Cliff leaves the bar still getting zapped never knowing that the old guy is the one with the remote.

Man, you absolutely missed the best part of the sequence! "Dance, mailman!"
Just imagine a scene between Cliff and Ted Baxter. Talk about comedy gold!
I was all hyped up to see Al nail Cliff at the end, saying DANCE MAILMAN! He also delivered another super funny ending when Diane was trapped under the floor with her face in a tiny vent, looking straight up. Al comes into the frame and leans over saying, PUCKER UP BABY! Now that's funny, I don't care who you are.
I miss comedy like this. Pure gold!
Shame they couldn’t include the old codger’s line at the end of the show. IIRC: “Dance Mailman!”
What is missing from this clip is when the old man gets a hold of the button and says " dance mailman "
dance mailman
There’s more to this hysterical scene.
you cut it too soon! The old guy gets the trigger and says, "Dance postman!"
They cut it short!!!! DANCE MAILMAN!
Thursday nights in the 80s The Cosby Show, Family Ties, Cheers, and Night Court
Probably the hardest I have ever laughed watching t.v.
The actual scene where the old guy has the button and says,” dance, mailman” is on Hulu. Took some searching
