then you havent spent much time in sunderland. and house prices there are rising faster than anywhere else in the NE, people are moving there. and the crime RATES are higher. higher by about a third. as in more crimes per 1000 of the population. and population of sunderland - 280,000, population of newcastle - 260,000. i know plenty of people in gateshead who despise newcastle as much or more than sunderland people do.

Send me a link if its true? If there's more crimes in newcastle its coz newcastle is far bigger and a real city. You see Newcastle is just part of tyneside which is 4 times bigger than wearside. There's nothin in sunderland to hammer it with. Fair enough sunderland house prices are a fraction of ours but still not worth it. Thats why sunderlands population is in decline its an awful place in every single way. Thats not even the city centre, the city centre is tiny. There's more in south shields.

get on the governments stats website and look it up. newcastle has bright lights and fancy buildings, that is all. sunderland as a place to live hammers it in every way.... and sunderland hasnt had money thrown at it, why do you think the old brewery site is left to rot? because tesco own it and the council, whilst not letting them build there (who wants a tesco in the city centre?) cant afford to get it off them.
