"...Serious (Sirus) Black" line was subtle but nice. That punchy rap on the third voice was dope too. Flipped the rhyme scheme multiple times on that flow. The meaning behind it was dope too. Wasn't just rapping for the sake of rapping.

That track ROOKED! I mean, rocked.
A few months back someone asked me if I knew about Knox, I said I did. But I mostly liked his reaction videos over his music. I said something along the lines of "I feel like Knox needs to work more on his flows, he is lyrical af, bar for bar... but i just don't like his flows". In the reaction videos he always shows 15 seconds or so from his album. To be honest with you, I never really felt like listening to it just because I felt like the way I just described. Checkmate so happend to pop up in my recommendations a few minutes back and I was like, "yeah,.. why have I not, you know,.. sit back, listen to the song and break it down myself?, I enjoy the breakdowns, Knox as a person so,.. why not?" So this is my honest review. You really can tell that Knox has improved not only his flow, but his craft in general. It has a unique flavor to it still, but ngl I think it might grow on me. I'm getting punched left and right with for real, unexpected bars / wordplay. It is really hard to actually predict the next line. On that note, I've already opened the album in spotify and I'm ready to listen to the whole project in incremental order. Respect Knox, keep the hip-hop game alive. You are going to be big one day. You have read it here first.
