Glad you liked it.
My first thought was 1. Nb5 followed by 2. Ra7#, but Black can delay that mate with 1... Rxg8+ 2. Kxg8.

Rb7 after black moves his rook or pawn,,,,capture the black's rook,,,checkmate

Doesn't work if the black rook counterattacks by capturing your rook on g7.

Nc8 lets black play Rbxc8...which is still mate from Rgxc8#
Also if the pawn is going in the opposite direction then it would also be possible to win with Kh7 Rxg8 Rxg8#, but I couldn't find the checkmate with the normal pawn
why doesnt Rxb8 Kxb8 Rg8# work

King can go to c6 square
emm, in your "solution" black can go Rb7 after Nc8, and (if I'm not mistaken) you wont have mate in 1 then. So, the right way (or one of) is to have Nb5 edit: now I see that Nb6 is a checkmate
