You have NO right to check someone else's phone or diary or anything without their permission. Trust or no trust, privacy or no privacy, you have NO right to go through anyone's things without their permission. If I have a bf or a husband, I'll tell him my phone password, but I'd appreciate it if he asked me before going through my phone. I wouldn't want anyone going through my phone even if I have nothing to hide, and I won't go through anyone else's phone either. Also, even if the couple has nothing to hide, dudu could be having a talk with his friend he doesn't want anyone to know. Or there could be some information in there which no one is supposed to know. There's a lot more to not letting someone see your phone than just talking with another girl. Everyone has the right to talk to whoever they want to, male or female. And lastly, not all couples are the same so it differs. Some couples may be okay with their SO checking their phone, but a lot of them are not, and that's perfectly OK. I hope people come to their senses.

My father knows her password, but never opens her phone without her knowledge. Doesn't mean there's no love between them. You're fine with your husband opening your phone, not everyone is. This is just my personal opinion. And there could be many reasons for not telling your partner something. It could be big news, it could be a surprise, they may not be in a good mood so may not like what they heard, etc.
