That's awesome. I definitely felt like I missed out on something special by not playing it when it was popular. Hopefully, by updating it to UE5, we can breathe some life into it and experience it properly again!

I played Mabinogi all the time when I was younger, I still go back to it every couple of years =]

"I choose elf cuz I like archery" little did he know the pain and anguish of a journey he is about to partake in considering how bad devcat treats elves both gameplay and story lol.

the doki doki island is the valentines event.

For newbies, learn not to get attached to items and hoard things, Nexon definitely thrives on the mtx to buy pets (for inventory space) and such.

certain weapon categories scales with certain stats since u like shuriken u want to rank up skills that give str and will to power up your shuriken damage.

Hey man this might just be me but the screen shaking every zoom is killing my ability to watch the video I get people do it for retention because peoples attention spans have been melted by short form content but for me it makes the video hard to get through.

i'm not a mmo guy but mabinogi is the only MMO i've played a ton. The main story and lore is pretty cool, but the gameplay and progression is what makes this game shine. The game can also become REALLY difficult, but it's a mix of strategy and reflex which I love. Some skills and transformations can also only be obtained by doing hard and long quest, which is not something a lot of MMO's do. It's a really unique game, and i'm saddened to see no other MMO has every tried to do something similar to mabinogi in terms of mechanics. Though now it has the typical problem of being too dense for newcomers. There are so many events and quest everywhere it's hard to understand where to start. I would really recommend a wiki to do the generations of the game (this is the main story, generations were the big updates doing a continuous story.

agreed alot of people shit on it because of how it looks but to be frank i feel its on a WHOLE another level then wow.

Yeah, it's definitely quite overwhelming for new players, but I do like the sense of wonder. Modern MMOs have way too much handholding, and you can pretty much just play them on the rails without thinking about anything. Personally, I never tried the game, because it has NEXON as its developer and publisher, and their reputation is quite horrible.

@@Nilvarcus yes thats true But mabi seems to be their top game (Besides maplestory) granted i kinda proves how well off the game is sense its still alive lol

For a tip if you play at age 10 you will slowly age up each week once you hit 18-20 you can rebirth again. this game use a total level feature where every time you Rebirth your play level gets stacked the max age is 25. so after you hit 25 it will say something like Ozoomaroo is 365 days Over the age of 25. most players Start from 10 and work their way back up to 17 by then you should be somewhere between 60-100 some players keep going though till they are way higher. i think mabis max level cap is 120? not sure though. i used to play it religiously for years my dad then followed he kept playing but i lost interest. regret that i stopped playing now. regardless you can play ANY CLASS and level them all up to rank 1. with out any issue the way to change is pretty much just swaping weapons. some Life skills are mini game based. the better you do the better the out come. back when i first started you had to spend at LEAST 20 bucks. to get a pet that lets you fly and one for riding also you could only get 3 character cards for free. Your starter one (Which should always be human) your second By equipping the friend of giant title. and the Third by equipping the friend of elves title. at one point you could only get 2. but people thought it was stupid to only be allowed to get One of the 2 races. eventually they changed all that. but man mabi sure was difficult in those days. lol also part-time jobs are entirely optional but they are insanely simple. the game Also features a special music system where if you enter a music code (lets call it that) you can play any song. and with the large verity of musical instruments you can even put on a band each person having a scroll related to the instrument they are using. windmill will also hit any enemy thats close enough. the best thing about this game is it is TRUELY entirely 100% free to play with out the need of purchasing stupid memberships like wow or runescape. there's more stuff But i think I've already put way to much down lol. also there's been so many players that play this millions of pet names have been used so you might end up trying to figure out names for awhile.

Oh, wow! Thank you for this. Honestly, the game is pretty awesome, but it's definitely showing its age already. They are working on an UE5 update, so that might be a good time to try the game again if you enjoy it.

@@Nilvarcus of course np. There's a lot of really good content in the game including a massive story. Which sounds multiple chapters or generations as their called. There's even an entire shake spears saga. and ya when I played it it already showed it's age for sure but a lot of people shit on it because of the way it looks which they are working on that. To be frank tho it is always 5 steps behind the Korean version.

rebirth is changed to 1 week after ur rebirth after u hit a higher total level(once a day for newbies), so now u can just choose whatever age u want to start with for stat growth when leveling and the Max level is 200. With Blaanid's new tutorial system you get total levels/AP to hit up to 20k total lv and decent premade gear so they just hyper boost u to near end game as well as extremely easy to train skills now though life skills are still a pain. The part time job system got revamped where finishing it gives you points to spend on goods depending on the job type, or if u choose nothing u get a huge chunk of exp, also part time job completion counts no longer go down over time if u stop doing them for awhile.

Mabi YTuber H3ro is expecting 2025 at the earliest and Fierlyt says a couple of years. But there is no date from the Mabinogi team, they are in the proto phase or something. But your characters and stuff will carry over so don't worry. I'm glad to see that Nexon want to bring Mabinogi into the future. With all the new quality of life updates and the Blaanid questline for new and returning players, the game has not been better

@@Stalkercat Yup! The initial estimates were something like 3 years if they super rush it (announcement of UE5 was July 2023), but expecting more like 5. They could always hit delays along the way or find clever solutions to speed up the progress so no one really knows. Those are just early and hopeful estimates. They haven't stopped or slowed development of the live game yet as we still have monthly updates to the game, so even without UE5 the game is improving on its own.
