3 ½ years of studying Russian by myself at home, while working a full time job with 2 kids- and I’m able to read a Graded Reader @ A1 level each night. I translate, maybe 2-3 words per page, which is amazing! 🤩 🤯 This story to me was ALSO comprehensible. I was able to answer ALL 5 questions correct after you read the story. I’m happy to see that I truly have reached A1 going towards A2 🙌🏾!!!! ⚡️

This seems pretty advanced for an A1-level learner. I'm about a C1 level and would have really struggled with this in my beginner days, even at A2 level. Still, it's good to set the bar high!

I watched this one time all the way through, then went back and watched the portion where you read the story and I read along as best I good. My comprehension skyrocketed!! I understood some but was mostly confused the first time. The second I was following along and had a very much better and more detailed idea of what was happening. Thank you so much for all these wonderful videos, you help a whole lot when learning Russian. Keep up the amazing work
As a hobby I'm learning Russian. I've been teaching English and Portuguese as a second language for more than 20 years. I've placed many students on a proficiency level and I can tell you that past tenses are, at least, level A2 for sure, and mainly verb be, have got and a limited group of verbs.
Im Macedonian, didn't know a word of Russian before I clicked on this video and got all 5 questions right.

I didn’t think I was following along since I was only catching every other word while listening, but I answered all the questions correctly, so I’m stoked.
Excellent way to improve my vocabulary, context etc. etc. I guess I would qualify as A-1 level as I did understand the whole story. There was 5-6 words that were unfamiliar but of course now I am familiar with them. Great video lesson! Really hope to see more!
это было так весело! это было легко понять. спасибо, Федор😊
That video was so helpful, you should upload more of these stories with Level X. Especially the explanations of every sentence was great, огромное спасибо фёдр!
This is going to help me with my vocabulary a lot! I started Russian a couple weeks ago, and I still only know a few words like Bread, Mouse/Mice, Lion/Lions, Cat/Cats, Dog/Dogs, Bird/Birds etc. I can't wait to be able to speak Russian fluently EDIT: For the first story, I couldn't understand most of the words except Boy, Bird, friend, bread, and park. I managed to get the first 4 questions correct, so I am glad to know that I didn't do that bad

Pro tip: That A1 story link requires people to sign up. Most people stop at this point. If you want more engagement with your site, move the sign up further back, maybe after a gallery of samples. Then those people who do sign up are more likely to become customers.

This is fantastic, what you have done for us with this video! I started learning Russian with you, and I still remember when everything was too hard for me. I did not know a single word, or letter even, in Russian. I haven't reached the level to understand this at first sight, or should I say, at first time reading. However, at a closer look, and with your great explanations, I realize I have come a long ways I do understand much more than I originally thought I did.❤❤❤❤❤ Я люблю тебя! 11:24 11:24
большое Спасибо! this is an excellent, extremely useful exe - and enjoyable. I first listen only to your voice , without watching anything, as if it was by Radio. Looking at my previous Russian classes, I'd say this exe is A1+ . больше Пожалуйста 🌷
That was very interesting to watch!
Great video ❤
Полезное видео как всегда!
I know this video is a little old, but I feel the need to comment. I've been studying Russian now for about 2 Months on my own. I have both Babel and DuoLingo, I have been watching your videos and taking comprehension tests online. Without someone to talk to in Russian on a regular basis, it's hard to say how much I know, and whether or not I'm making progress. I did, however, study two other languages in academia (Spanish & French) for two years each, and I already feel like I have a better grasp on Russian in-general. I was able to understand probably 75-80% of this text. Enough that when the comprehension questions came around, I was like "Wait, is that it?" That was really neat, and it made me feel much more confident in how things are going and how I feel about my progress. Thanks!
I could only pick out individual vocabulary words without understanding the story at all. I needed that line by line breakdown. I learned a lot. Is it possible this is A2 instead? It seems advanced for A1.

It depends on the amount of words you understood, also you may just need more practice reading Russian as it's a skill in of itself. For example I understood all of this when reading it on the screen (I only didn't know like 6 out of the 42 words used.) But answered all the questions easily. However when I listened to the story I struggled a lot more to understand as my listening comprehension isn't as good as my reading.
Im usually consider myself A0-A1 student. I got all the five questions right. 🎉 They were easy for me, but I didnt understand every single word in the text far from. Also I felt that you were reading it at a rather fast speed.

He was reading kinda fast. But don’t worry about the knowing every word. I’ve accepted that we will never know every word in a particular level, it’s more about comprehension. Understanding. As long as you understand the story and what’s happening then you are doing great! I’m currently reading an A1 Graded Reader every night and I have to look up 2-3 words a page, which is fine 🙌🏾!
I really like this method!
bro even though I didn't understand 50% of the words I still got an idea of what it was about
Regardless of what some poeple here thinh, that this is a bit hard for A1, I think it is a perfect exercise for anyone to learn something from. Some will have more to learn than others, but it will sure teach us all something. I am Not a1 level ,but it is the level I am working towards reaching , and this is perfect for me. Thank you so much, my sweet teacher!
I understood around 70-75% of the story I read

started learning Russian 1 month ago and I almost understood everything in the story! I am so happy about my progression and I hope I can progress even more. Alhamdulillah
Very good lesson , i am definitely A1 level :)
I thought I was at least A1, obviously I’m at a complete zero hahaha. But thank you for this. I went over the text and learned new words.
I am A1 and I got all questions right, but that was just the gist of the story. There were a lot of words I didn't know.
I got all the answers right! I did not understand all the words whilst reading, though I noticed the keywords that I understood more. Благодарю за видео Фидор!

i was also studying russian in busuu, and it was good, but A2 in Busuu sucks, thats why i started learning in Befluent in russian, here. I can understand that with an A1 level on Busuu, you cant understand this story, it took me a while to get all this vocabulary after Bussu. But you will get it, just keep practicing, if i were you, i would join Befluent class! Пока :)

I would have said the same thing myself last year, but I now realize I was more A0. A1 level is much deeper than we all think and I guess technically you are not fully in “A1” level, until u are working your way to A2. Which is funny when u think about it 😅

I got the 5 questions correct but only because I happen to know the words for boy, park, bread and friends. And the last question was an educated guess. So what's below A1? edit: Ok, during the breakdown I realised I knew a whole lot more than just 4 words.

Not much going on in that город. Not sure what these A1, B2 levels mean but I was a 3/3 Russian linguist in the army back in the mid 90s and haven't really studied Russian since and I had no problem with this text.
I am A1 master. I have to say that I liked the subject of the story. All questions correct.🦆
Yes I understand thank you bye
My level is A2 and I had to research every second word of this story. I don't think you can put this to A1 level. It has many difficult words and uses various cases. I mean, I study Russian for some years now with a book and instrumental case is the LAST in the book. This story may sound easy but grammar wise I'd say it's A2 to B1 at least. Just my opinion. This story uses past tense, prepositional case, instrumental case, genitive case, accusative case, nominative case. It uses singular, plural, reflexive, masculine, feminin... And it uses several prepositions before words like видел увидел or ходил приходил.I don't think that's A1, sorry :D
I don't what my level is, I think that max A1, and I understood almost everything in that story. Maybe three words were for me unknown.
i give up bro its too hard😊
Apparently I am -0 level
I consider myself almost low level a1 Russain got a 65%
Почему автор говорит на русском с акцентом? Классный ❤❤❤

Can someone explain to me why яркой and интересной are in the genitive singular feminine of яркий and интересный, respectively?

How??..

Ай бұрын
@@vibe5207 It's basically google translated english text. If anybody asked me how old was author I would say "about 7 years old". Let me post READABLE exemple. What have I done? 1) I changed repeated names to nameplacers. Repeating same noun in every sentence IS stylistic mistake. What do we know about Vanya? He is a Boy. So as nameplacers we coud use "he" and "boy". 2) Got rid of trash words. Ex. "когда он гулял в парке" - "when he was walking in the park" change to "гуляя по парку" since he was IN PROCESS of walking. 3) Changed some stylisticly wrong sentences. Since this story about "boy and bird friendship" any other friendship is irrelivant. So changing "история о дружбе мальчика и птицы" to "история этой дружбы" is the way to sound right in russian. Many things in russian language is IMPLIED. "Птица была яркой и очень интересной" - "Bird was bright and very intresting". In english it's sounds right. But in russian this sentence imply the BIRD could talk and shines. "Она была пёстрой и крайне увлекательной" - "She was colorful, exciting and very funny". BTW a word bird is female in russian so bird is SHE. If I fcked up a/an/the anywhere - sorry. Even after all this years of reading IT IS a headache for me.
Интересно, какой у меня уровень английского, если я поняла все, что сказал автор😜
