I have a 98 Hardbody, I don't use it much as a "truck". I did a favor for my wife delivering pet food to the reservation. We overloaded the truck and I drove down the highway, no problems It just went. I didn't even notice a excessive loss of power from the weight. My Wife does not understand why I like my truck so much. It has everything I like, reliable, easy to work on and it's paid for.

the speedometer is an easy fix if your mechanically inclined which I think you are is a small plastic tube at the end of your speedometer cable coming from the transmission has a spring inside that pushes a small shaft into your cluster it wears out and breaks but it remains intact because its inside the cable housing so just find something that will slide around the plastic piece but thin enough fit into the housing so it can spin freely I used a piece of an old radio antenna lol it's been working for years they change to speed sensor in 94 I think and I'm most positive yours is still the cable speedometer type awesome d21 it looks great looks oem

I had a neighbor that had one of these hard body duallys. I always thought it was pretty cool. He told me people came up to him all the time at gas stations and parking lots. He said most people would come up because they thought it was cool. The same people would also say it's cool but what the hell's the point of it. You could just get a single wheel F-150 GMC 1500 or Dodge 1500. Which is the exact reason why the so rare. Very popular overseas though where all the vehicles are small. In the US though they really wasn't a market for these little duallys. Because America has plenty of full size quarter ton trucks.

@@Jeo7140 Get you some water/weather proof crimp butt connectors. They are easy and will give you a more weather proof seal. Just use the crimp butt connectors like any other crimp connector and then you heat it up with a heat source (heat gun, etc.) which causes the plastic part of the crimp connector to seal around the wire making a weather proof connection. These are easy to find at auto parts stores, hardware/home centers, Harbor Freight, etc.
