Great upgrade. I recently saw a 3d printed Nissan Fairlady Z body that would look awesome on this metal chassis ! Will try and link it when i find it again !

You're a ham, and that's awesome. The outro was friggin' stellar. I'm also a WPL fan boy because of you! Videos like this, for instance... *Now* I want a D12, and not before. Not having a metal chassis rail system or some kind of metal for weight and strength felt off. This solved that. I'm on-board now. Maybe I can keep the van vertical with some hub extensions... Keep up the great work, you and WPL!!

Probably a dumb question. But I keep seeing these awesome little trucks now and I'm looking to build something else but wondering if one of these stock trucks would be usable for a 1.18 scale body shell? These are bigger so would I be able to trim down to shorten to make wheel base fit? Or I completely wrong?

I went the other direction with my new D12. I kept the plastic chassis and affixed all metal upgrade parts to it. I do have the metal gearbox/370 motor on order. Should be here in 2-3 weeks. Are you saying it will cut-out with the stock WPL control board?

Hi tom! I have a question where does the WPL D12 have brake system because if you go forward and pull the reverse as fast as possible it stops so nicely

I have installed these metal alloy wheels in red and felt D12 engine "drag" when play. Loud noise and not as smooth when run compared to D12 original wheels. Could it be due to the wheels weight increased?

Big thank you tomley I've been searching for a good source to buy metal chassis from 😁👌 couldn't find one that comes with the battery bay 😅 I'm pretty much 85% done with my build now just need the chassis / new transmitter- receiver combo/ motor housing I can confirm those wheels do come in a red colour but keep in mind the tyres may need gluing as mine tend to pop out without glue buddy 😉 - ps : could you let me know what resistors I need for the 370 motor when soldering it up as I've still got it in the bag needed to be assembled

Nice upgrade Tom! Just noticed you don’t have number plates, I use a Dymo labeller to create custom number plates. Ours plates in Aus are a bit shorter than yours but it should work well!

I have some plates... just not fitted.

I just picked up a barely used second hand d12. Only thing is, one of the wheel axles broke before I bought it. I got it cheap because of that reason. Looking forward to repairing and using this machine.

I thought you were going to build for No Prep drag racing drifting, I think no prep would be the way I go stick the biggest motor you can in it wheelie bar slicks.

For a scale look of driving mostly everytime much more weight and a slow soft moving suspension will do it. Maybe don't drive better but more realistic if that ist the goal.

Heh, it actually seemed to drive even better (more realistic) with a bit of weight in the back!

Crazy how someone just dumped cen f450 wheels in the middle of nowhere 😅

Anyone try to convert this thing to a nitro engine while still keeping the rear drive? I can't imagine the level of difficulty.

Very weird that ESC from Axial wouldn’t work on a simple 2s set up on that small motor, 360 isn’t really that big. Neat video but I feel that WPL, XK, MN, ETC are all way too slow and simply are just cool toys too look at or for kids....I only buy the Banggood stuff only for looks when something looks cool but after having so many of them pile up as just trophy queens made me think its time too just watch videos instead lol 😝 My input for something cool and different on these little cheapos would be a functioning towing arm/wench in the bed ha

Lots of options for these little things. So many creative people out there. As for the ESC... the gearing is quite high in the gearbox, so even though it's a small motor, it's probably drawing quite a bit of load
